Another excellent, sprawling story. The flashbacks in particular were excellent, telling so much in a nice small amount of space and just very well-constructed all around. Poor Speed stuck out the best in this issue for me, just so over his head XD Doesn't seem like he's likely to get his terra firma anytime soon, though. I loved all the ghostly stuff, the mood was wonderful, and the resolution was great. As usual, you can take a complicated story and keep it from getting too muddled. Everything's always crisp and comprehensible.

Funny story: I went on vacation a couple of weeks ago, and had hoped to read this issue before I left. But then the issue was delayed and it looked like I was going to have to wait (drat!). But--- Lo! And behold!--- it appeared the morning we were leaving to catch our plane, so all excited I printed it up, intening to read it on the plane. But when I opened my laptop case (in which I thought I shoved it) it was no where to be found (I did however find the latest Who's Who, which was awesome, but that's a story for another letter col ). Disappointed, i resigned myself to catching it when I returned home in a week. Then, halfway through the plane ride, my darling wife pulls the issue out of her purse (which is more like the Bermuda Triangle of handbags) and says "Oh, here, I found this for you. Looked like you forgot it on the desk as we were rushing to get out of the house." Rapturous joy! The conclusion to "The Brown Lady Affair" in my hot little hands, and still an hour left in the flight! Neddless to say I devoured the issue instantly ( The Danger Trail is a always a fast and easy read--- no matter the length!) and was not disappointed. Now for the bad news: as I read this issue more than two weeks ago, I can't rememebr specifically what I wanted to comment on, so I'm going to have to re-read it in order to give feedback ! Poor me! So, look forward to my feedback on this latest installment soon! Just felt I should share my story, as a DT addict!

This was plain wonderful, lots of creepy imagery that made the story move fluidly, and very much excitingly. Koth was a scary concept, and seeing the "origin" of Rose and Doc was brilliant. The idea of those ghosts just whispering "Koth" again and again, no choice in the matter, was eerie as hell, and seeing Speed try and take them on but failing because, come on, they're ghosts, was delightful. To be honest, the bar was set so high by that opening, with Argent:
That, there, is just fantastic imagery. I could see it so clearly in my head, and it did not disappoint. The flashbacks were intertwined wonderfully, and the manner in which the characters themselves experience them was great as well. I'm so much full of praise for this issue, it was great.
And Doctor Zero meeting King Faraday was such a creepy little sequence, especially with the bait and switch of him being there-- but not. Very eerie, reminds me of The Dummy scene in the last issue of Seven Soldiers. You're doing brilliant stuff with this mythology, and I'm so happy to be able to read it month after month.
And the tease for next month... very exciting, and I look forward to it muchly. Aha, this was a great read, and a very cool cover for a very cool issue.

Still trying to catch up so I apologize for the lateness on this. It was really worth the wait, though! This issue did one very important thing for me, it totally sold me on Argent! I seemed to be on the fence with the character, but this story did it. The issue had everything I love about this book. The danger, the intrigue, the noir feel. Speed, Faraday, Midnight, and Eel (to name but a few). Eel! Now what the heck is going on there!?!?! Excellent job as always and that cover was astounding!

The best Danger Trail stories are a mix of two-fisted action, noirish suspense, fantastical adventure mixed with interesting (and sometimes obscure!) historical personages, Golden Age characters, tongue-in-cheek humor and more than a dash of the Lovecraftian outre.
This installment has it all!
"Koth!"
Those eerie sequences kinda gave me goosebumps! Loved how this little used and mostly forgotten aspect of Dr. Occult's origin rears up as a very scary threat.
Loved the off-hand mention of The King! Loved Faraday's talk with the mysterious Dr. Zero. And I love even more the developments with Rose and Eel but especially the Enemy Ace and the Balloon Buster! it is amazing to me that this writer can juggle so many (very distinct!) characters in one short issue and make us care very much about every single one of them. It's why I keep coming back.
And for lines like this: “Right. Got it,” Speeed said as he followed along. “Kind of. Sort of. Just tell me who to hit, Doc.”
Classic.
That cover was awesome. Reminded me of a Hammer Films movie poster!
Well done again, folks! Another five-star effort!
