YES! All kinds of things going on here! The intervention of the Order of Saint Dumas promises to add yet another player in the events unfolding. The Gimp went down pretty easily but, then again, Midnight was really pissed... and I think that Dave and Trin will be a fun couple. Also nice to see Andrew stand back and respect Midnight's honor but you'd expect such from a gentleman. I wonder what Black Beauty is going to do now that her henchman has gone down and exactly what her role in this whole thing is? Not a whole lot of Jan or Sun Koh this time around but that is certainly going to change next issue when Sun faces down the Iron Chancellor and that one should be an epic fight. I doth think Eel protests too much Damn fine issue, Don, and thanks so much for letting me do the covers for these characters that I've come to enjoy so much!

Thanks for the great comments, James. There's lots of stuff brewing, and the St. Dumas arc really kicks into gear over in the next issue, and over in New Outsiders Annual #3 and #47, so be sure to see all the build-up to what I hope will be a stellar crossover tale.
As for Eel, I gotta say...he's scoring with Rose and later Dinah. He definitely needs to shut it. LOL
Take care Don

I think I made a terrible error missing #15 (an error I will seek to rectify very soon) because the Falkenstein references excite me for some reason, and I want more! This issue was bad-ass, just moment after moment of bad-ass, and it's some top notch bad-assery at that! The Gimp was terrifying as an adversary, but Trin but up a brilliant and bloody fight, and there was a line I thought I'd never hear when reading this:
I mean come on, see what I mean about bad-ass? I'm liking the look of where this is heading, and I need to catch up before I miss anything else that has something to do with the potentially (and I say potentially, but I think we all know it's going to be "ultimately") awesome crossover with New Outsiders!
The opening with Walter was fascinating, and I'm remembering hints and threads from across the titles that are already beginning to pay off, and I'm loving the symmetry with this issue and the latest NO. Really snazzy work, guys, brilliant.
I'll be back!
