An interesting character introduction. It seems like Man-Bat has a different origin, which could be a good or bad thing depending on how it's written. I have faith in the guys here, so it should be good. Looking forward to the next issue.

I enjoyed writing Man-Bat, and while this was his first DC2 appearance ( I believe...), it is not his origin. That can be assumed to have happened sometime before this story. Remember, the DC2 started 6 years after the debut of Superman and Batman, and they had to be tangling with someone before our Issues 0 back in October of 2005! Next issue is written by Masoud House ("Crow"), and it's awesome! And coming up after that: the likes of Brian Burchette John Elbe, House Of Mystery and many others! I know you (and everyone!) will enjoy this ambitious series! And how about that fantastic cover by Craig...!

And so it begins. David as always paints a glowing, epic picture. I hope I am worthy of being part of this.
And Craig is the awesomeness.

But in typical David fashion, he makes it breath taking, epic, and seemingly effortless in its delivery. Awesome opening!

Also, the cover is just really really really really awesome.

Epic and awesome: the best words to describe not only our project, but the team that gave us a running start. Dave, phenomenal work: every time your pen hits a paper or your finger touches a keyboard, a touch of magic creates the most compelling plots.
Craig Craig Craig...
If I say anything, it won't do your art justice, because your work on this cover, as well as the many others, have been beyond words.
Great start guys!

This is without question the most daring project ever attempted here at DC2. If it wasn't for David playing MC I doubt that it would have ever left the ground. He deserves a big round of applauses for pulling this together and setting the bar high with the very first issue.
Of course Craig has kicked it off with a stunning cover. How cool is it that we will be able to see a new cover from him every week?
One of the coolest things about this project is seeing which characters will pop up and what role they will play in the story.
I have to admit that before this I wasn't to familiar with who the Atomic Knight was. But he seems pretty cool. And what’s up with the ominous message “The Great Disaster looms.” ?
I never really cared for Manbat but with one scene you won me over.
The COTU have always been favorites of mine so it’s nice to see them back in action here at DC2.
And then Prof Stein shows up with a mysterious warning.
What a fine way to kick this event off!
