Seeing Batman and Robin together made me choke up a bit.
Magpie gave me a flashback--one of her earlier apperances is one of the few back issues I bought, back in the day.
The fight scene was a little confusing in spots, but effective. The twist with the "real" villain was also clever.
And of course, the Bruce-Clark banter was spot on.
And Dick calling Bruce "Dad!" Awww.

Great read! Love the artwork from Roy and Ramon too. The banter between all the characters sounded just right and the overall conception of the story was very well structured - although I did see the bad-guy in the red cap coming from the get go! Jewel Krytonite sounds interesting, looking forward to what happens next with it. Top stuff, 5 stars.

Hullo, Jay! Seeing Batman and Robin together made me choke up a bit. I was struggling to decide on what "era" to place this story. What with Superman not appearing in current continuity because of something that'll be revealed quite soon, I wanted to play around a bit, and decided to set it in the six years before most our books started (FYI to all readers, all #0's of the DC2's premiere titles, bar The Flash and Batman, go figure, were set six years after the characters made their debut) and let myself have a bit of fun without stepping on anyones toes! Also, I haven't had a chance to write Robin I yet, so I leapt at the chance once the story formed in my head! Now I just hope Ellen approves, if she ever reads this Magpie gave me a flashback--one of her earlier apperances is one of the few back issues I bought, back in the day. I have an issue of Batman which featured her, which was a "Legends" crossover. I hated her style. I mean come on, that spikey hair? Those big red goggles? I hope I kind of revitalized her look, making her look more glamorous than before. I hope you enjoy her. She might be appearing some time next year... But in which book? The fight scene was a little confusing in spots, but effective. The twist with the "real" villain was also clever. Yeah, I was trying to make it a detective story near the end, after it being all loud and Bruckhiemer in the middle act. Sorry about the fight scene, but I tried my best And of course, the Bruce-Clark banter was spot on. Cheers, Jay, having written these characters for... A long time now on the site... I hope I've at least caught a semblance of their characters and actions in my writing And Dick calling Bruce "Dad!" Awww. I had to slip that in

Great read! Love the artwork from Roy and Ramon too. The other guy's contribution was quite awesome too The banter between all the characters sounded just right and the overall conception of the story was very well structured - although I did see the bad-guy in the red cap coming from the get go! I didn't That plot point was a later addition, and I think that THAT kind of reveal might best be delivered in a TV show or actual comic book projects. Using dialogue as a marker is always a blatant thing, but body language and features... They're a better use, me thinks; and with the "Muzz" line being repeated, it got kind of obvious, but I tried my best to obscure the truth. Jewel Krytonite sounds interesting, looking forward to what happens next with it. Top stuff, 5 stars. Roy and I discussed using Pink Kryptonite in the story instead of Jewel Kryptonite, I kid you not, but it got a bit... Questionable. Lol! Thanks for the feedback, guys!

This was one great issue. Fun to read, and I also liked the artwork in there. The Kryptonite part was really fun.
Five stars.
OWO.

I have to say that this was a real fun and entertaining read. Although I'm not a big fan of Magpie, but this story changed that. I really did think that the banter was dead on. This was one of my favorite Batman/Superman stories I've read on this site.
Great art! Great writing! Kudos to everyone!

Good story, with lots of nice touches here and there, although I have to confess that my complete ignorance of the Magpie character, along with the solicit, made me think there was going to be a big reveal of the character's identity at the end. Naturally I had a few trivial quibbles (I found the avoidance of using the word "said" kind of distracting, and wondered why, if Batman has his kryptonite-repellent batspray, why didn't he give Clark a few cans to carry around. Also, I was slightly surprised to see Robin predating the Bat-Gyro in the DC2). Overall, though, a great read.
Really nice art from all concerned as well, and a great cover.
