As always, we'd love to know what you thought of this year's crop of holiday tales!

First off, I'd like to lodge a complaint: my issue didn't come with 3-D glasses! I had to read it in boring old 2-D...but it was still good. A Tiny Reed Against a Raging Storm: I always have a fondness for any story that mentions "Black Peter", so you won me right off. And the fact that this fearsome army was stopped cold by a plate of brownies is awesome. ;D A Season for Second Chances: I'm mixed about this one. I recognized the Batman story this was based on within the first couple of paragraphs (and even remembered many of the lines word-for-word), so it comes off mostly as rehash to me until we get to the Titans Tower stuff. Those scenes were good and heartfelt, and probably could have stood on their own. So we get a mid-grade here. One Trail to Another: I've got that Trans'-Siberian album! I think the story on the album is too mushy, but you put a good spin on it here with Faraday and Speed...I take it that this little girl is supposed to be the source of his granddaughter's name? Home for the Holidays: Took me a bit to get into this, as I'm not familiar with our DC3 Supergirl, but I liked how Linda led Kara around to give her real-world examples of Christmas spirit, and that's one heck of a present Kara gives her in return! A (K)night Before Christmas: Who is this Susan Hillwig, and does she hand in her stories in crayon? The Family Tradition: Some very nice touches in this story, like the part about the wren boys, but I have one technical complaint to pass on from my husband, who read parts of this over my shoulder: you don't sip beer! Harley Claus: Okay, that's it! I've gotta get caught up on reading Gotham Girls again! I'm sorry I got sideracked!

haha, no worries Susan. It only occured to me after seeing your review here that not everyone was going to have known that Renee and Ivy got together (Maybe that becomes a selling point, lol).
Everything was fantastic and very festive this year. I totally agree that the opening Mary story is absolutely adorable. Everyone did a great job and it was a great treat to read

Oh, my comment wasn't in regards to them being a couple (though I was surprised), I just meant that it's been so long since I read an issue, I forgot how dang GOOD they are! My old excuse was that it was on DC3 so I didn't see it, but now that we've consolidated, I have no excuse. I promise to post in the lettercols as soon as I've torn through a good chunk of issues.

I'm researching for this year's issue and I was pointed in the direction of a certain Hillwig tale... and wow, that's pretty damn cool. I love me some Jack Knight and I love me some David Knight, and I adore the fact that we get these two characters interacting in our continuity. Don't get me wrong, I love me a good Talking With David, but at the same time, they're brothers, they're family, so why not have them be around at the same time at the same place?
Thanks a lot for writing this, Susie!
