I liked this, there are lots of balls in the air (the murders, Stranges part in the story, whats gonna' happen to Vicki etc) and i can't wait to see the pay off.
Another issue i can't wait a month for.

Interesting, it's so obviously the one guy that it must be a red herring. I can't wait to see how this plays out. Very entertaining!
Special thanks to Onegemini for contributing the logo on the cover.

Wow. This was fantastic! There is no need for a lesson in what Batman is before reading this... It is just as expertly crafted as ANY Batman tale.
Great job David!
And the cover rocked!

I wish stories of this caliber that depicted Batman the way he was in this issue were being told in the DCU today. Maybe Infinite Crisis will get us back to that but until then Long Live DC2! (And was it just me or did anyone else hear Kevin Conroys voice any time there was a piece of Batman or Bruce Wayne dialogue?)

Seeing Batman in the detective role is a rare treat and something we don't see much anymore in the regular DCU. Hugo strange has never been more.....strange? And just who is committing the ripper crimes? Great stuff! I am glad I saved this one until issue two came out because now I can jump right in!

Nice job!!! I love a good detective story!! I've got my list of suspects. Can't wait to see if I'm right! may i ask who is on the list? there werent even that many characters introduced in the story, and somehow i'm guessing its not batman, alfred, gordon or vicki. that leaves...jeremiah arkham and hugo strange... anyway, this was the best of DC2 stories i've read so far (i guess i'll just leave it at that and forego any nitpicking this time...), but i must ask why it was numbered 0? usually #0 issues are used as backstory/origin stuff, but this jumped right in. was it for consistency (every title starts at 0) or is there something i'm missing?

That's a good question actually, and you answered it mostly yourself. We opened each title with an issue 0, intending that it should set the stage for that character, establishing them (continuity-wise) for the DC2--- but as Batman had two seperate titles, we decided that it would be nice to just jump right into a storyline with 'Tec, and as we have an issue ten event mega-crossover planned, we kept the numbering like it is for consistency's sake.

Kind of a shame that the numbering started with zero rather than 27.
Anyway, really liked the cover and the way the cape flowed (reminded me of Kelley Jones' version of Batman).
Thought it was a good opener and really nice to see Hugo Strange, my favourite bat-villain, in there.
On the picky front, "She jut her chin out" should have been "She jutted her chin out", and "Your boy’s will find" didn't need the apostrophe. I was also a bit confused by how The Joker managed to blow a kiss when he was in a strait-jacket.

By pursing his lips and blowing. You can make this noise too: "MmmWHA!"
