A worthy finale to a spectacular arc! The pacing is just about spot on, with the rush of the battle, the big ol' final battle that kept me stuck firmly to my seat whilst reading through! You did good for an artist Ramon, no matter what you tell yourself

Wow, nice conclusion! Very solid ending! The last few lines before the epilogue were the best in the whole issue! I definately look foward to seeing more of your work on Batman.

Very, very satisfying. Non-stop, intense action and a great resolution to this story arc.
Good to see Commissioner Gordon featured so prominently; as a good, tough cop and not just Batman's dispatcher. This is as much a turning point for him and his relationship with Batman as it is for the Dark Knight himself.
Batman as human, and not a creature of the night? It works for me; hopefully Bruce will repair the fractured relationships after this for he realizes he needs other people too. He doesn't have to be a mushy goofball with the people he cares about, and he can still scare the crap out of the crooks (who can continue to perceive him as a mythical creature). It's about trust and respect, and even Batman can learn to feel those with certain people.
Overall great story, and I hope it's not the last time you write Batman.

Bravo!
The line of the goddamn Batman retiring made the whole issue for me.
Looking forward to #9...

Ramon, I had to keep reminding myself that this was your first foray into fan fiction, because it honestly didn't feel like it at all. This was a truly great Batman story. from beginning to finish. Gordon's involvement was my favorite part. I was happy to see him in the thick of the action. You have a great deal to be proud of and I second batarangs sentiment, I hope to see you writing more of the Dark Knight.

geez, all this time its been posted and i forgot to thank all the people that commented on the story. thanks guys. chuck- thanks for the comment on the last fight scene. i wasnt sure how to approach all out battles which you more than knew back when i started this thing so it means a lot that you point out that it was an action scene that you liked a lot in it. in fact, didnt i ask you to just write all the damn fight scenes when i first started? darkknightdetec- thanks a lot. there was a point when i was writing this that i really felt i needed to do some closure in dialogue but i didnt want it to seem corny or over the top so i actually really went out of the way to find somethign i liked and tried to adapt it the best i could and if you look at this page: www.moviepoopshoot.com/comics101/images/2005/aug3/gordon.jpgyou'll see where a lot of what i was trying to say came from. it was a subtle homage to a great bit of batman history unlike the blatant ones i put all over for frank miller. batarang- i thought that when i did this it was going to be to lead into a storyline that has since been thrown out for a new one so if you look back to the first issue, there was a huge emphasis on the robin relationship and it is pretty much dropped in #7. after that i figured i might as well move onto the next agenda which would be to do the unthinkable and pretty much kill of the miller batman in the dc2 universe. why? because frankly I had nothing else to do with the story other than that after the "other" plan was aborted. ;D titanicfan- the batman line was a blatant homage to dkr as well as asbartbw. clever, no? Brian- thanks for the compliment about my writing. as far as me writing batman again... i think i will give ellen time to regain her strength before i put her through that again. seriously, i am a pain to edit when i give it to the person days or a day before it posts. seriously. in totally unrelated news, you can look for me doing aos... this week. i should probably get that written... chris- I suspect you are pulling a "me" on this... just kidding... or am i...

A fine story all-around -- great way to work in the Reaper, and scary too! My only question: who exactly shot the Reaper at the end? Did Gordon's gun accidentally go off when he dropped it? A stray bullet from a crime in the streets below them? Am I just very thick-headed today and can't see the obvious?
