Crispus....where do I know that name from?
Thorne is gone? Yikes!!
I can see the seeds of who Harvey will become being planted.
I wonder who it is that has a line on Bullock, and why Firefly was taken out/
Intriguing.

There was so much kick ass stuff going on in this issue I don't know where to begin!
Everything that has been slowly burning, completely began to boil over in this issue. Brian and Chris have made this title their own in a dark and twisted way. If there were any doubters before they're sure to be silent now because this title is everything it should be with the best still on the horizon.
This title exists to compliment the regular Batman book and it succeeds on every level. Sure, the focus isn't always on Batman and thats OK because when he's there his impact is felt. The focus on the dark and gritty underbelly of Gotham City is the star here. This is truly a perfect mixture of violence and truly despicable characters with a dash here and there of heroes like Gordon and Batman.
Sure, Batman as a character works when he is part of the JLA or shown with other heroes, but here in his city we see and feel the struggle of a vigilante and his urban crusade against crime.
This ain't Metropolis kiddies and there ain't brightly colored hero's gonna swoop down out of the sky to save your butt! This is Gotham City so you better recognize! ;D

Things are getting darker and more twisted, and I love it! And I can tell we haven't even scratched the surface of what's to come.
I really like the fact that Gotham itself seems to be the star of the book. Sure, Batman's there, but he's just one man and he can't be everywhere at once. This book is filled with the reality that even the great Batman can't control everything and everyone in his city.
Lotsa violence this issue and a couple of deaths I didn't see coming. I'm enjoying the spotlight on Gordon and the second-tier bat-characters that really are beginning to be fleshed out in this title. The build-up with Harvey Dent is being handled perfectly, so we understand what makes him tick and makes his eventual transformation more believable. Batman hardly appears in this issue and I'm still engrossed. Terrific job, fellas, and keep up the stellar work.

HoM: Thanks, and we're almost there, friend. Just hang on. The four of us are going to blow them away! I hope... Arcalian: I'm glad you're intrigued. If you didn't happen to catch the Batman/Detective Annual #1, you might want to check it out. It's where it all started. If you did, then glad you're still along for the ride. Roman: What can I say, Sir! You're a terrific Editor and I've been very lucky to be working with you. Actually I've been lucky to have great Editor's since I got here. You're imput is invaluable. Thank YOU! Chris: Do not sell yourself short, my man! Many of these idea's are yours, too! We're a team! Until it all goes South, then I'm out of here, and I'll leave you holding the bag. ;D batarang: I'm loving your feedback and the fact that you seem to be really enjoying our tale. I'm very happy that you keep coming back! I hope we can keep your interest up! Stay tuned folks, like our Editor said, the pot has started boiling over, and next issue, it's going to just get worse...

Sorry for the late letter, this issue kind of slipped past me... Holy crap! What the fudge is going on?!? People being capped left and right, the GCPD dividing from within, the DA's going nuts...I am so glad I don't live in Gotham right now! But from a reader's standpoint, it's great. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Susan! Things are a bit chaotic, to say the least. But I guarantee you that 14 will give you a few little revelations.

Not a big Batmna fan, but I do enjoy a good story and good writing. And this issue has both!
I'm a little behind in some titles, but after reading this issue I realized I was doing myself a disservice by not keeping up with the wonderful (and wonderfully subtle) work Brian and Chris are doing in 'Tec, here.
The plot is straight-forward (though mysterious), characters are genuine and sympathetic and the action is crisp and snappy! So engrossing the plot, and the interplay between Gordon and Bullock, that I hardly cared that this book is as much the GCPD's as it is Batman's.
Actually, this felt a little like a Scorsese movie. Very atmospheric, with each movement and word inbued with subtle menace and undertone.
The ending was awesome. I won't wait as long to dig into the next issue!
