Chris, well lead with the main story! Really tight stuff! Favourite line:
Awesome stuff.
Brian, Apollo was amazing. Seriously. All together I'd give this issue like... Seven Stars. But you'll have to settle for the five.
Sorry!

Thank you Charlie, but that part was all Mr. Burchette.

"Hide and Seek": Good continued Mafia tensions. Bullock's past will catch up with him eventually. Penguin was well done, too. Appropraite mix of costumes and hoodlums.
"Apollo": Chilling. The abusive dad and the frat boys were entirely beleivable.

Sweet story.
I especially like your story structure, moving us from POV to POV in blocks. Makes for interesting reading and keeps the tension in each story going...you get things moving to a tension point and then shift away to another character to do the same thing. Well done.
I also liked the Two Face story, and the idea that Dent was already talking to his "other self" before his face gets burned. Creepy.

Again I'm very pleased with the direction of the bat-books. The characters are really being fleshed out (especially the supporting cast) and the story keeps getting tighter and pulls me in more and more every issue. Great to see the Penguin again and next issue should be a doozy. Terrific work.
The back up story was totally fascinating. Another very strong piece of characterization that gives us some insight into what makes Harvey tick. I do get a sense of dread with him however. Does something bad happen to him or is it just me?

But on a more serious note, I really can't wait to see where these guys are going. Keep it up.

Good stuff, guys!
Loved the stuff with Gordon, and the political situation you're building in the GCPD. Are we gonna have a Gordon faction and a Bullock faction?
Oh, yeah, and there's a mob war brewing.
The first time we see Batman in this issue, as he's diving off the building--- that was cool.
The back-up with Harvey was interesting and well-written, but I hope we don't make a habit of this kind of stuff. I like my Bat villains irredeemably bonkers, and not complicated by sympathy for the devils (of course, that is strictly my opnion, and should in no way be construed as an editorial preference, as others seemed to enjoy it quite alot).

Great stuff! Secrets abound, tensions mount, and Harvey's talking to himself! Where will it all lead?

Thanks for the compliments, Dave and Susan. Chris and I have worked very hard to bring many little threads together for some really huge events. Trust me, we're nearing the top of the first hill on this roller coaster. Honestly this story wouldn't have all the twists and turns its going to have if it wasn't for John, Charlie, and most especially my partner in crime... Chris. The man is awesome and I am honored to be working with him. Now about that Dent guy. I have to admit I was more then nervous about this piece. Being given the chance to create Harvey, I wanted to do something both traditional, new, and with a DC2 uniqueness all it's own. I can only hope that in the end when Dent... well, you know... that you'll enjoy it. But as always, I thank you and everyone for their honest opinions and thoughts. It means the world to me. OH, and this Saturday, give a silent prayer for the Ohio State Buckeye's as they are totally trounced by the Michigan Wolverine's.

Two things Brian, 1)thank you sir, but you are the brains of this outfit and2) save your silent prayers, because we both know what will happen Saturday and it does'nt end with OSU needing any

Brian, you've done a great job with Dent.
As I see it, the problem sometimes with two face is that he's totally normal until he gets cooked with the acid. Of course the mordern Dent is a victim of child abuse and that combined with the acid creates two face. however, there is something very creepy about the idea that he was ALWAYS nuts, always fighting the losing battle with a seperate personality....one that hasn't been let out to play yet.

When I hear the term "Fan Fiction" I think of someone who has written a story about their favorite hero, that is a lot of derring-doo by that hero and making him do all the stuff that the "professionals" won't do, that the writer wants to see him do. (sure was a lot of doo-doo in that sentence wasn't there?) There were four appearances of Batman in this story and they were not overdone. This story really pulls you in and makes you care about what's happening. It's not just a chance for Batman to use cool gadjets. It's about Batman' world and the people in it. This motif permeates all the stories on this board. These aren't just stories about the characters, it's about the characters life. Chris, Brian. Great job and I eagerly await next issue. Roy

thanks Roy! And I think you hit the nail on the head with your comments about this board. Everyone does take the time to show the readers that the person is just as important as the mask's that they wear. The hero's as well as their supporting cast. It's the main reason I love comics so much, and that Gail Simone and Birds of Prey is always on the top of my list every month. Chris and I have tried to show that everyone in Gotham are well rounded characters with their ups and downs, like people in the real world are. Thank you for noticing it here, and everywhere else. Personally, I think it's one of the top three reasons why this site is so damn good!

Thank you Brian. I totally missed the whole game, but I hear it was a great one. My brothers girl came up with this brillaint idea to take six kids all under the age of 8 and get their portraits done together. Gettin six little monster children to all smile and look at the camera at the same time was an absolute nightmare. 23 takes and not one of them worked out.
