A very action-packed entry for certain. I liked it overall, with some swerves and twists that could be prove to be something special when we see the end product. For now, I reserve full judgment and say that they sure do keep the reader wondering what's going to happen next.
I am confused about the DEO's presence in all this though. Mister Freeze is a metahuman, but all the others boss criminals are just costumed gangsters really. I don't know why the DEO would be involved. That's just me though, I guess. there's just such great Gotham PD characters already in play, and others that could be brought in, that bringing in outsiders (no pun intended) that seem to have a tenuous connection to the situation is a disservice to them in my opinion.
Great cover. Really does a grand job of encapsulating the issue.
Other than that little nitpick, and a general dislike for "harsh and inhuman Batman", this was a good, solid episode and Ill be curious to see where the next part leads us.
Take care Don

For now, I reserve full judgment and say that they sure do keep the reader wondering what's going to happen next. This was what I consider the top of the roller coaster, just as it plunges down towards the final destination. I'm glad the twist and turns have kept you interested. I just hope the payoff is enjoyable enough for you. Well, in your comments lies one of the big mysteries: Why has the DEO suddenly shown up... or... perhaps they've been around for a while now. And trust me when I say that the DEO and GCPD are about to clash in a huge way. And I also promise that answers will begin to emerge next issue. WASN'T IT!!!!!!! I was floored and geeked at this cover. It was eye popping to say the least. Jayson is a great artists and I'm very lucky to have him on Tec. Harsh and inhuman Batman? See, this is where I'm going to do something I rarely do and respectivly disagree with you to an extent. I'm not saying that Batman didn't have attitude a few times, and the defenses went up, but I've always tried to show Batman/Bruce as more than just a harsh and inhuman person. His thank you, his feeling of desperation. A few issue's ago when he fought everything for his sanity against Scarecrow, have all been moments where I've tried to show that our hero has more than one side. However, I do think that when Batman sees the emotional pain coming, the wall comes up and the harshness comes out for a while. And the disappearance of Alfred, for him, could well be a very big emotional pain. Thanks you, though, for the honest input. I appreciate it very, very much.

You killed Alfred! I can't believe you killed Alfred! All I can do is hope that he's gonna pull a Jason Todd and end up not really being dead.
In the meanwhile, I've enjoyed the way that you're slowly integrating Tim Drake into Batman's life. It makes sense that he is inadvertantly proving himself to Batman, because otherwise, it would be hard to imagine Batman taking him on as Robin in the future.
I've enjoyed your storyline so far, keep up the good work!

Well, since we don't have a Superboy-Prime, we have to wait a while to bring him back. I have purposely been sprinkling Tim into the story, but all I can say about his future as Robin is... Grant and I have an interesting twist on the final piece of that origin. Thank you so much for reading and responding. It is much appreciated.

Wow Brian, I'm a little blown away by the events of that issue myself. I still enjoyed it, well mostly after got his second wind and got a little payback against Freeze. I really like the way you wrote that scene. The visuals were playing in my head the whole time I was reading it. The same goes for the scene with Drake's dad and Black Mask. Why do they always put head's in boxes anyway? Why not a cooler instead?

And to answer your question, we're on a budget here at DC2 and boxes, especially bloody ones, are much cheaper than coolers.

Alfred? Penguin?
No. I don't think so.
Very well written, of course.
But no, I sincerely hope not. In both cases.

Wow. Just... wow.
The plot, the direction... just... wow.
Wow.
I cannot stress how well written this issue was. I keep... well... WOW.
This is everything that a Batman story should be. I can see things headed in a hell of a direction.
Like everyone else, I'm hoping Alfred is not dead... and in no way do I want it spoiled... but the whole thing and they way it was handled... I'm loving it.
Damn... get the next issue out NOW will ya! I can't wait to see what happens next!
Oh, and the cover? Great stuff too. Fantastic job all around guys.
Have to say it one more time.
Wow.

Alfred isn't dead, he was just raped. Seriously, though, next issue will reveal the fate of a few characters. Thanks for reading, my friend!

Interesting wording, and very dead on. Alfred's fate seems to be a concern to a few people. Hmm... Hey, only a few more weeks. I've got a Green Arrow to work on, first. Wasn't that an awesome cover! Captured everything perfectly. I was really impressed with it! Have to reply one more time with... wow! I love your reaction. It's the kind that makes me want to keep writing. I hope the rest of the story meets up to your standards.

Good Lord, I feel like Brad Pitt at the end of "Seven". The things you did here...the end of the last issue was harrowing enough, but this...do you like digging yourself into a hole, Brian? I can't comment any more than this, my mind's melting.

It's coming! I promise. Only now I hope it isn't a huge let down, if you're this anxious. Makes me nervous. But I like the fact that the story has intrigued you!
