This issue was gripping. Lost friendships... struggle to regain what was lost. Of course the death of Batman. Clearly the Batbooks is what everyone should be reading.. this tale is wrought with drama and a clear insight into Gordon.
This story is well crafted and it's scope into Gordon's pysche is undeniable. I'll have to nominate this book as the best of the week.
The cover is awesome... shows the rage of Dent and the utter desperation of Gordon.
Brilliant stuff.
***** from me.

Gordon, you magnificent bastard! I love you as much as a real person can love a fictional character!
And this line just made the issue for me: " I believed in Harvey Dent." With the connotations inherent, and also the link to the film, it was just... Yeah. I wish that Harvey got better, I really do. Who knows? Maybe he will...?
Bloody brilliant, Brian.
Jay's right, the Batbooks are where everyone should be!

I really did want to make most of this story about James' reaction to not only these events, but everything that had been building since Harvey's transformation. I'm glad it showed for you. Really?! Have you read Nightwing or Suicide Squad yet! Might went to check them and GL and Danger Trail out first. Wasn't that an awesome cover!!! Thank you Trevor! And thank you, Jay!

Gordon, you magnificent bastard! I love you as much as a real person can love a fictional character! Thanks Charlie. I was going to be all toungue in cheek and ask which was which, but I couldn't. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Poor Harvey, I've always felt sorry for him. I know it's not everybody's vision, but he really did get a raw deal in life, IMO, anyway. Oh sure, you say that when I'm leaving. Thanks for reading it Charlie. I promise I'll be reading the next writers stuff as well!

The profile on Gordon was great, solid and fascinating, giving us a great look into a man who really has lost more to the war on crime than many in his position. More than just people in his service, and the emotions boiling inside of him are really eating away. Very well done.
The other elements of the story were also interesting, and I liked seeing them at play. The gang bosses meeting holds lots of promise of future stories, and the bit with Selina was also rather telling.
And it was interesting to see just how callous the prostitutes in Gotham are, apparently. That scene was...New Outsiders dark. A bit jarring for this fare. But otherwise, seeing Two-Face and Gordon throwing down verbally and physically was good.
Enjoyable title all around.
Take care Don

Well done. Loved the Selina bit. Gordon blaming Batman is perhaps understandable, but totally wrongheaded. He will learn in time.
And those Mafia idiots really need to watch Penguin. Not that they're smart enough to....

I really enjoyed digging into the Commissioner's psyche on this one. It's something I had wanted to do for a while, and Grant's story gave me the perfect opportunity. I'll actually be looking forward to seeing what happens to those crime bosses myself. And I'm glad you liked the Selina part. Probably my favorite scene I wrote this issue. Did my Editor read this comment?! Actually, it is rather dark, and if I had listened to my editor like I should have, it wouldn't have been there. I just had this need to show how dark and disgusting Gotham really is at times. However, had this been a true Outsider's scene, you would have read the actual scene itself. Glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for taking the time to let us know what you thought.

I was curious on your feedback on that one. As for Jim, well, grief is a sad, emotional, roller-coaster, isn't it... Boy, I would think so, but I tend to think I'm in a minority of really liking the character of Penguin (especially as a crime boss). Thanks for reading, and commenting!

Nice job! Two-Face rules! It really is a terrible fate what happened to Harvey to make him Two-Face. Once again great job!

As always a solid job by Brian and a good read all around.
Harvey certainly is a tragic figure. One has to wonder if he could ever be cured.
Nice issue that feels very reflective. Where do the Batbooks go from here? I'll be around to find out!

Where do the Batbooks go from here? I'll be around to find out! Thanks again for taking the time to read both this and Batman. It was a great story that I was glad to be asked to be a part of. Yes, Harvey is a tragic figure. I've always believed that. As to where they go from here. I'm not sure, but if I know the new writer, it's going to be one heck of a ride, and I've already buckled myself in.

This was a great epilogue to an ambitious arc (the death of Batman!) and an even more satisfying conclusion to Two Face's amazing saga here at DC2. As has been said above, your insights into Gotham and Gordon are superb. Very dark, very clever, and very entertaining.
This issue also reflects on the big "death of Batman" stories in the Batbooks; I liked the idea of pitting Batman against Ra's al Ghul in his final battle. That said, I wasn't as sold on his villainous scheme. An armed invasion of a major American city seems more like a setup to fight Batman than a genuine plan on the part of the League of Assassins. It was hard getting over the "revolving door" of villains brought back from the dead for this arc, but I did enjoy the dramatic fight scenes. Joker, on the other hand, seemed more like a distraction, not to mention bizarrely overpowered--it's quite difficult to build and plant a small bomb let along an entire army's worth of munitions! It did draw attention to how Batman made some serious mistakes, and I'm glad that other characters and his own actions draw attention to how badly he messed up.
While this was not my favorite run on the Batbooks thus far, it was a dramatic and poignant end for the Dark Knight and this was an excellent epilogue touching on some of the characters that were affected by his loss. I loved the scene with Selina. I look forward to seeing how the city, and the Batfamily, react to further fallout in the next issues.
