Here's a little background info on this issue! These are the two covers that inspired the artwork for this one... Flash 133  and Flash 286  And 286 is actually a story about the Rainbow Raider stealing color, so it kinda works, yeah?  Barry's color is stolen for more than a few moments in the comic and has to do all sorts of crazy things to get it back. Great read! So yeah, I know, Rainbow Raider is really Barry's rogue and not Dr. Spectro (he's a Capt. Atom bad guy originally), but the characters are really just redundant and Spectro has the cooler name, so I mixed them together! His name is Roy G. Biv by the way but I don't bring that up anywhere in my story. ;D I hope you enjoyed this issue but definately stick around as this one is only the set-up to next month's all action issue! Things get cuh-razy, all sorts of nutty sci-fi science gets thrown around as Spectro unveils his nefarious plan, and Barry comes face-to-face with the end of the world! |

Great story! I loved it all but the entire car sequence was out of this world. Makes it the best of the group this week!  It's right up there with the last writer of this series. Par Excellente' |

Now, I might just be reading into this a little bit, but if I'm not mistaken, our esteemed AD has very subtly insinuated some foreshadowing of the coming Crisis in the Flash's musings...
Also, it should be noted that this issue is obviously, the first of a two-part guest arc by KSM (to be followed by a single issue guest shot by yours truly) before the regular writer returns to wrap up his epic "Time Flies" storyline... Just in time for the Crisis in our Issue Ten Event!
It should be further noted, for those continuity hounds out there, that this issue (like the two that will follow) occur in current DC2 time (whereas HouseOfMystery's "Time Flies" arc takes place five years previously)--- so the observant reader may yet see the hint of things to come!
Did I mention there is a Crisis coming?

Yes!! There's all kinds of Crisis set-up in this arc! I'm glad it came off that way and look for more next issue. The Flash forum seems to have become the unofficial Crisis hint-dropping spot.
Oh yeah, we forgot to put the continuity note before the story. I'll go do that now!

Very good story.
Roy B. Giv isn't the initials of the colors of the rainbow? If it is, it's a ... ... .. .. ... nothing, forget it.

actually Roy G. Biv. Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet. I heard the color Avacado was a bit upset to be left out of the equation but what are you gonna do? Roy G Baiv does not sound so cool.

Ha. I thought one of these color bad guys had the name Roy G. Biv but wasn't sure. I realize it's a cheesy name so that's why it won't come up in the story, but I can't help calling him that in my brain! Besides, if the Riddler gets to be called E. Nygma then why not? ;D

That was a great story...the subtle foreshadowings of Crisis were really well done (look for some more of that in Teen Titans #5...  ). |
