Wow, this was a great story even though all that supernatural stuff doesn't really interest me that much. It is always cool to see Jay working alongside Barry. But if the cover for issue 10 is any indication, I hope things don't go the way I think they will. I have got too used to the way things are now.

I will keep reading. There is no way I can ever not read an issue of The Flash. That's blasphemy!

I enjoyed this issue! I'm afraid I'm not in tune with characters like Dr. Occult, but I was under the impression that he & Rose were one and the same. It wouldn't surprise me if I was wrong...
I don't like what I see on the cover of next months issue! I mean, it looks great, but we just got Barry! The DCU had him for 30 years before they killed him off! We need more time... and solo stories!
I will have to say that's the one thing I long for in this series... Barry being the Flash all by himself! No guest stars, no team-ups... just Barry vs. the bad guy! Come on Charlie... BRING IT ON!
But alas, it looks like it won't happen... Crisis has always been tough on Flashes!

I have to confess that this is the first issue of Flash I've read, and I only did so because DC's oldest hero Doc Occult was on the cover. Anyway, while I liked the handling of the Doctor, the supernatural subject matter just didn't feel right for the Flash (this could just be me, because I'm used to seeing him in more straight-forward scientific scenarios). Also, all this stuff about seven etches, seven slashes and the sign of seven I found a bit distracting, just because it didn't tie in with the cover image's sign of eight.

Argh! I wasn't wearing my glasses when I looked at that and I SWEAR there were seven sections, but no worries... Hmm. I wanted to juxtapose the idea of magic and science into a Flash tale, because seriously, have you ever seen it before in a Flash tale? Hmm. Oh, and Scott, that Rose/Richard thing? Check out TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED, coming up for Hallowe'en...

Nice job, Charlie! I really liked the way you brought the three of the Flashes together at the end. A happy ending for all of them. Hmmm...
I do have to agree with LL, though. I'm also looking forward to a Flash story that is all about Flash, and the villian. So let's see it! ;D

Well Wally and Jay would be happy to help in #11...
Oh wait... I wasn't... Oops.

I, too, was a little turned off by the magical elements in this story--- they just didn't feel right, and were slightly disturbing, especially when Doctor Occult started cutting into his own flesh to work the spell--- I think maybe that was a little outside his sensibilities, and that if a guest star was called for, perhaps John Constantine would have fit the bill here a bit better... House of Mystery wrote: Umm, where was the science in this story, again? Lantern Lad wrote: I have to admit, at times this has felt more like a team book than a solo title. I, too, would love to see some solo Barry stories (that is, if it's not too late for him.... )! Lantern Lad wrote: The image posted at the end of this issue is not the cover for issue 10! It is a teaser image produced to promote the crossover event next month--- but as Scott has accurately pointed out, crises have been notoriously fatal for the Flashes...

I would also let to take this opportunity--- and what better place to make this announcement than in the Flash lettercol?--- to reveal the new (and aptly named) creative team on this title: with issue 11, Speeddemon joins the DC2 staff as editor for the Flash, and issue 12, Zoom begins his "run" as writer!
And, of course, we hope to keep the magnificent Borize on covers for as long as we can!
I hope everyone will join me in welcoming Speeddemon and Zoom to the Flash!

Charlie I liked it. It was an interesting change of pace and I thought it worked well. I also like the lead-in at the end to the crisis.

I liked it, but I felt it wasn't as great as the others. I loved Dr Occult.
And welcome to speeddemon and Zoom! That Zoom looks promising, and good looking, and saint like. And great, supreme, etc...

He was gonna' be the "help" in this issue but a miscommunication with Brian and Mark caused him to be put to the side and for Occult to be used. It made more sense that way... But y'know, what are you going to be do? The Flash is science, that's his thing. The speed force is science, another dimension so the idea of it not was the idea presented Thanks Dave! The Flash #10 cover is down right more mysterious and weird!

Congratulations Zoom! I pity you though! You have to work with that speeddemon guy. He is so picky and overly critical. I can't stand him and-hold on for a second. Turns to sock puppet:"What do you mean? I'm not speeddemon. I'm Bruce Wayne! Don't tell me you have forgotten me already Alfred." Looks at screen name as the people from the funny house come to bring me back: "I have been framed! I'm telling you I'm Bruce Wayne and I'm secretly the Batman!

Nice, very psychological, with a nice, comforting, cheesy ending. Looking forward to the CRISIS!
