I dont know why but I guess Im not as familiar with him as other people however if he is in JLA or something I love him and his character and I dont know why Ive never read a Flash issue before. Anyway I told myself this time I would read every issue of JLvsA and so I read this and wow!!!!!!!!! I nearly died when it happened (am I allowed to post spoilers here) I nearly died when Jay...OMG!!!!!!!!! I love JSA and I now love this title. I think I might wet myself with joy. Very nice job. Strong issue that stands on it's own and acts as a nice tie in to the JLA vs America series. Very cool on the return of Jay Garrick... and the cover... wow... great artwork on the cover. Faraday is quite a tool in the DC2 Universe, isn't he?

Great tie-in!
A bit angsty, but that is certainly understandable, all things considered.
It was great to see the return of one of my favorite JSAers, and I thought the comparison Jay made to the HUAC hearings and the recent Crisis was especially apt (and wonderfully insightful of the writer).
Awesome cover, as always Craig--- but I would have liked to have seen Barry without his mask (as described in the issue).

LIVE FROM NEW YORK... IT'S... Me. Let's get the ball rolling before the strange man at the counter kicks me off:-- I have never read a Flash title on this site. You are an idiot. Please continue. I dont know why but I guess Im not as familiar with him as other people however if he is in JLA or something I love him and his character and I dont know why Ive never read a Flash issue before. Because of the prior mention of idiocy? Sorry, continue... Anyway I told myself this time I would read every issue of JLvsA and so I read this and wow!!!!!!!!! I nearly died when it happened (am I allowed to post spoilers here) No. (joke) I nearly died when Jay...OMG!!!!!!!!! I love JSA and I now love this title. I think I might wet myself with joy. AWESOME ISSUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Clean yourself up my friend! I'll be back next month with more thrills and spills with yet another one of my premier issues! Very nice job. Strong issue that stands on it's own and acts as a nice tie in to the JLA vs America series. Very cool on the return of Jay Garrick... and the cover... wow... great artwork on the cover. I can't help but agree on the cover. And thanks for the kind words, this issue has been ruminating in the back of my head for just under a year now (eleven months since I killed off Jay? So yeah, less than a year) and the conclusion finally clicked circa... The Flash #17 I think. Maybe #18. That's when Immanuel got a frantic PM informing him of my diabolical plans and the ongoing chest pains subplot. Anyone pick that up? I know someone did... Faraday is quite a tool in the DC2 Universe, isn't he? He's doing his job, as people in our Governments have been doing when they decide to invade another country to protect democracy. He's doing what he thinks is right. We all think he's wrong in execution, but I think that if we weren't privy to every moment of these characters lives, and the shady goings-ons behind closed doors in the DC2 US government, we'd agree he was doing what is in the best interest for us. Cue heated discussion. Oh, cheers... A bit angsty, but that is certainly understandable, all things considered. My one quibble in the way The Flash has been written by me in the IXXE is that he's too angsty. I was afraid that I was going into borderline depressing with my writing, and I didn't like it, but I'm glad it works for you. I just don't think this has been my strongest work this month... It was great to see the return of one of my favorite JSAers, and I thought the comparison Jay made to the HUAC hearings and the recent Crisis was especially apt (and wonderfully insightful of the writer). Inspired by your work, Dave. No one inspires me more when it comes to the Golden Age than you (though Scott comes close) and I hope that you'll accept being the inspiration behind this issue, and the way I wrote Jay. Awesome cover, as always Craig--- but I would have liked to have seen Barry without his mask (as described in the issue). I can remember what I requested from Craig, and he delivered the goods in... Wow, an amazing way. This is just what I envisioned, with the Kirby-esque machineryand the awesome position of Barry himself. Thank you all for commenting, and I will be back... In a while... Signing off!

Exactly what I was thinking after reading JLVSA #2; Barry, you're not surrendering to the good cops here....
But old school saves the day! Certainly pleased me to see it! Is JG also the explanation of the "painful cramps" or will that have to wait?

I have to say that I'm very proud of Charlie on both this issue and his issue of the Crisis mini. Yes, this was very angsty, but it showed us a hero who was in conflict with what he believed to be right and the law that he had sworn to uphold. This type of story is not Charlie's forte', as he has stated. That's why I asked him for this type of issue both here and in the Crisis. I wanted him to push himself, to look into those characters that he loves (and I don't know of a DC character that Charlie doesn't love in one way or another - although his Power Girl love is probably something we shouldn't discuss in public ) This was an excellent story, with a great payoff. Yes, folks, one of the "elders" is back! Just as Charlie and the others had planned even before the first Crisis last year! Good job Charlie. Great cover! Great book, all the way around.

Exactly what I was thinking after reading JLVSA #2; Barry, you're not surrendering to the good cops here.... Just a point, but I loved writing the banter between The Flash and his tormentors. I think a worthy comparisson to this issue would be the Sentry section from Marvel's "The Return", and I think if we do that, comparing Sentry's decision to sign himself up, to Barry's decision to hand himself in, that I'll come out looking pretty good... But old school saves the day! This is the DC2 we're talking about... Certainly pleased me to see it! Score... Is JG also the explanation of the "painful cramps" or will that have to wait? As mentioned above Jay, in that long and torturous Q&A session I devised for myself from peoples feedback, Jay was in fact the cause of the stomach cramps, as, if you could imagine, he was trying to force himself out of Barry's body, like Neo from the mechanical womb in The Matrix. Apart from not as icky, and less tubing. I have to say that I'm very proud of Charlie on both this issue and his issue of the Crisis mini. To be honest, that makes it all worth while. Yes, this was very angsty, but it showed us a hero who was in conflict with what he believed to be right and the law that he had sworn to uphold. The tone we set out to explore and expand upon! This type of story is not Charlie's forte', as he has stated. Div.That's why I asked him for this type of issue both here and in the Crisis. I wanted him to push himself, to look into those characters that he loves. You looked like you were going somewhere but then I just blanked This was an excellent story, with a great payoff. Yes, folks, one of the "elders" is back! Just as Charlie and the others had planned even before the first Crisis last year! But the road has been a tortuous one to get to this junction at the site. The question was always looming, how did he do it? How did Jay survive? The funeral seemed to suggest that he didn't, as hundreds of speedsters, on hundreds of cosmic treadmills, arrived at the newly erected Jay Garrick statue (a visual homage to Starman #73, I believe, as Andrew Robinson's perfect cover to the epilogue to Grand Guignol perfectly demonstrates, and if you compare Borize's cover from the annual to this, you'll see the similarities, and they were intended) to mourn the loss of their forerunner (YESSSS I went there) but as demonstrated in Action Comics #17... Time is broken! How? Why? Oh, we will find out... But anyway, I never knew how to bring back Jay. I painted myself into a corner with that one, but as the months passed, events on and off the site inspired me, and I finally formulated the plot to bring him back! I hope this doesn't seem like some kind of disapointing theft of the conclusion to that story, but I don't know, I think it works pretty well. Thanks for bearing with us. Good job Charlie. Great cover! Great book, all the way around. Thank you and Mark for giving me this oppurtunity to go for it!

This is how a great crossover should work. Expanding the events that have transpired and really focusing on the characters. Good work Charlie.
I really like the cover too. Very gripping.

Chuck, you never cease to amaze me. I love the "reveal" of the mask lying on the table. The image of Barry's head crashing to the table beside the mask may just wind up somewhere. What does this mean for the scarlet speedster? I like how you handled the rouges too. Cool stuff. BTW tell the guy at the counter to shut up and mind his own business, if this were 250 years earlier he'd be working for you! Roy

Charlie-- In no way am I idiotic, so don't even go there but this is the only Flash issue I've ever read at DC2, too. And I must say that I enjoyed it a lot. I enjoyed the peek into Barry's head, though i hated him being unmasked . Having Jay in there was awesome, and I really liked the way you wrote your characters. Great job!

Chuck, you never cease to amaze me. Then you've all still got a use for me...! I love the "reveal" of the mask lying on the table. One of the funner angst scenes to write... The image of Barry's head crashing to the table beside the mask may just wind up somewhere. Rightly so! What does this mean for the scarlet speedster? Ask the future writers of the book... I like how you handled the rouges too. Cool stuff. Inspired by Geoff Johns use of the Rogues during Identity Crisis, and Captain Cold's fists of fury after the Trickster was disrespectful about Sue. BTW tell the guy at the counter to shut up and mind his own business, if this were 250 years earlier he'd be working for you! Tally-ho, pip pip! Yes...? In no way am I idiotic, so don't even go there Bollocks, there goes my shtick! No worries, Imara, I know you're a bat-centric kind of gal, and when I say bat-centric I mean you lurrrve Nightwing! Woo! but this is the only Flash issue I've ever read at DC2, too. You fool! And I must say that I enjoyed it a lot. I'd cry if you didn't. Cry invisible tears of sorrow. I enjoyed the peek into Barry's head, though i hated him being unmasked . I think he did too. Having Jay in there was awesome, and I really liked the way you wrote your characters. He was, wasn't he? Great job! Great feedback!

Charlie, I love/hate/envy/admire you for the way you brought back Jay. I really thought he was dead all this time. Good job psyching me out there, my man.
Oh, and the rest of the story wasn't bad either. ;D

I loved the way Jay returned. The Speed Force is a wonderous thing.
This was good. I haven't read Flash in a while, but I decided to read this issue because it tied in with "Justice League Vs. America".
Jay Garrick's death was the only thinkg that ever really bothered me about tha Apokoliptian invasion storyline, so I was happy to see him back. I now feel the JSA is complete.

Very good issue. And YAY (or was it Jay ) for the comeback of the year No no, it was Jay. Don't know where you got "Yay" from Woot! Jay's back!!! Now, who will Charlie kill next? Hitman. NEXT QUESTION! Charlie, I love/hate/envy/admire you for the way you brought back Jay. I love/hate/envy/admire you too, Susie I really thought he was dead all this time. BWHAHAHAHA! Good job psyching me out there, my man. I try Oh, and the rest of the story wasn't bad either. ;D Meh... I loved the way Jay returned. The Speed Force is a wonderous thing. Yeah, but I'm having second thoughts now on the way I brought him back. Bit deus ex machina-y, on reading everyones feedback. Surprised I've not been called on it... Cheers! I haven't read Flash in a while, but I decided to read this issue because it tied in with "Justice League Vs. America". Good choice! Jay Garrick's death was the only thinkg that ever really bothered me about tha Apokoliptian invasion storyline, so I was happy to see him back. I now feel the JSA is complete. Yes, the JSA is complete now, isn't it?

This cover was simply amazing and a nice counter piece the JL vs. A #2. And like so many artists here, Craig NEVER misses!
As for the main tale, Charlie made his return the title he started in style. Of course it’s always nice to see Ralph and Sue.
Though most of the story took place before Barry turned himself in, it was the scene with Faraday that made this story really move. I honestly didn’t expect to see Faraday take such an aggressive move toward Barry. I mean he tried to shoot the Flash? Seems like he crossed the line there. I mean, Faraday isn’t suppose to really be a bad guy right?
Of course this story really revolved around the return of Jay and that was pretty cool. But I don’t really see Jay calling Barry out like that? I felt that Barry turning himself in was the right thing to do given all the information at the time.
There were a few thing and a few perspectives I didn't quiet get here, but overall it was a good issue.

This cover was simply amazing and a nice counter piece the JL vs. A #2. And like so many artists here, Craig NEVER misses! Indeed, he does not! As for the main tale, Charlie made his return the title he started in style. Of course it’s always nice to see Ralph and Sue. Of course! He was a criminal attempting to escape from custody. I'd have shot him. Or, like, wet myself. Of course this story really revolved around the return of Jay and that was pretty cool. But I don’t really see Jay calling Barry out like that? I felt that Barry turning himself in was the right thing to do given all the information at the time. But I always think that retiring in the 50s would have been something that all the JSAers would have regreted, and Barry kind of repeating history would spur Jay into this line of conversation. And it was clear that there were no clear lines of "good" and "evil" in this entire crossover, as King Faraday blurred them every time he came onto the scene. There were a few thing and a few perspectives I didn't quiet get here, but overall it was a good issue. Which?

The perspectives I was referring to were from the characters I already mentioned above. After you explained it further I still don't necessarily agree but I understand your reasoning a bit more.
