I have no reservations about commenting on titles that I've edited, so I'll dive right in with this one:
I loved it.
It's great to see Barry in action again, and in such a fun tale, how could I not be impressed? Mark's writing doesn't always click with me, but here it came together in a story reminiscent of the classics. The Flash saves the day! And with such finesse... I'm glad to see that we're getting the title back on track (and with such talent! Mark, our EiC on #22, Dave, our previous EiC on #23 for a very special tale, and #24... Kevin Feeney, who is doing wonderful things on the Marvel2 and soon with the New Gods too!) and I was surprised at the quality.
Anyway, I'm gushing: This story was fantastic. If you want to read a fantastic story, read The Flash #22. If you don't want to read a fantastic story, then I don't know why you're on the DC2.
Peace!

Not sure where to begin with this. I had forgotten that Mark was going to be the writer on this tale, and I wish I hadn't waited so long to read it. I'm just getting... slow... in... my... old... what... was... I... saying...? When I read the title, I thought, cool Bigby Wolf is going to make an appearance! Didn't happen, and don't really care. This was as entertaining a tale as Mark has ever written, and that includes his awesome run on Teen Titans. His trademark wit and humor was sprinkled perfectly through out this story, yet, was never over the top. A while ago, I believe it was David who commented that Mark seems to have that same flavor of writing that Joss Whedon has, and I couldn't agree more. I ended up so intrigued and drawn into this story that I was reading everything the Turtle said at an even slower pace than he was speaking it. I laughed out loud at several quips that Barry gave out. "Turtle Dove" being my favorite. Nice mention of the rest of the Flash family (Jay, Wally, and little Bart), but what made this a five star story for me was the wonderfully sweet ending. I love Barry and Iris. I love the fact that they love each other so much. Perfect ending. Perfect story. And the best part of it: It was like Speed, but with better acting! Great job, my friend!

Thank you, Brian, for those kind words. Also, thanks to Charlie, for breaking that editorial fourth wall to comment, and also for his infinite patience during my Turtle-esque production of the story, and to Craig and Ramon for delivering a cover that the story was barely worthy of.

I don't know the Turtle, but it's good to see villains that aren't manical, murderous or stupid thugs. Well done, Mark!

Thanks for reading, Riz. Glad you liked The Turtle (who was also used to great effect in Villain War #2 over in the Elseworlds section, and it was probably that issue which made me interested in using the character).
