BEWARE! This is required reading at the DC2, from two of our talented founders, Dave Charlton and Brandon Herren!
Please tell us what you think!
And coming next month, a new ongoing writer, Kevin Feeney, whose run promises to be up there with the best of this site!

This seems like a good opportunity to remind all: if you liked this issue and want to see more of Earth-Two, please check out the DC3 this Friday for the debut of our first Earth-Two title, Justice League Legacies #1, written by Yours Truly, but plotted and designed by fan-fiction superstar artist Boris ("He-Hates-It-When-I-Call-Him-A-Superstar") Mihajlovic--- oh yeah, he draws some stuff, too. Pretty, pretty stuff...! I would like to reiterate my gratitude to and appreciation for my old friend and collaborator Brandon Herren, without whom this issue simply would not be.

Cool issue. Like your work a lot. Thank you very much! It seems to me you're a Flash fan, huh? I've written the character before, namely in Justice League, and of course his predecessor in Justice Society of America, but this was my first all-Flash issue... It was fun (which is exactly what a Flash book should be!). Thanks for reading, and for the feedback!

I just had to re-read this story because it was so much fun. I found a little typo in the cementy scene On Barry's gravestone it says Bartholomew Henry Alley

Since Charlie tagged this as required DC2 reading I thought he was just being a kiss-ass considering who was involved with this issue. Of course I am kidding because I am fully aware how talented a writer David is. Plus Brandon being a great storyteller in his own right made this even a bigger treat. This story idea has been floating around the editors room since '06 so it's nice to finally have it see the light of day. The cover was amazing as a straight up homage to the classic Flash #123. Brandon is an amazing artist and I know I am not the only one that misses seeing his work around these parts. The story started out a little slow but once it was up and running it didn't stop. At first I thought I knew what was going to happen because I remember seeing this story develop way back when, but then I was completely surprised at how the story unfolded and Barry tried to figure out what had happened. I loved the idea that he immediately felt he needed to fix it. And the The Fox-Schwartz Theory!!! Great stuff indeed. Barry's encounter on his return trip was intense and foreboding to say the least. Of course the revelation at the end topped off an incredible issue that was worth the wait! A five star issue from the cover to the epilogue. Now when will we get to see this Earth 2 again?

What can I say? Dave, I can't thank you enough for bringing these characters and this story to life. Awesome story all the way through. It also served as a touching tribute to the legacy of Barry Allen, who is one of my favorite comic heroes.
It was great to see this story unfold and set up a "doorway" to other Multiverse stories on the DC3. Great work on this, sir, and I'm looking forward to seeing these characters again!

This was such an amazing story! Just seeing David, Brandon and Charlie's name together gave me a bit of a lump in the throat.
The cover was excellent and I agree with John that it's been way too long since we've seen Brandon's spectacular work on this site. It makes me not only miss his covers, but him as well. *sigh*
The story itself sang as a love story to me. A love for the silver age Flash and the story that introduced us to Earth 2 all those years ago. I agree that the Fox-Shwartz Theory couldn't have been a better choice!
But it was also a love story within the overall love story. The love of the characters. The love between Iris and Barry, and the love of the legacy that is Flash. And really, there is no greater legacy character or family like the Flashes.
I can never say anything negative about anything David writes, and this is no exception. Brandon, David and even Charlie have come together to show us what there vision of this sight was three and a half years ago, and they showed it with all that wonderful talent that helped create DC2.
The story, as well as the creative team, gave me a wonderful feeling of respect, and a poignant reminder of how far we've come, and how much we've lost.
Thank you gentlemen.

This story idea has been floating around the editors room since '06 so it's nice to finally have it see the light of day. This story was definately a long time coming--- since the end of the "Apokolips Imperative" as a matter of fact--- and it feels good to finally get it out! You got it, John! We have a lot of artistic talent aroud here, but I will always have a soft spot for KSM's work. I wish we could have him back fulltime, but Brandon is following his dream right now, and maybe someday soon, we'll all get the opportunity to say we knew him 'when.' I was a little worried about the structure of this issue. It's not a story in the classical sense, anyway; merely a recounting of an event (though significant) in the life of Barry Allen and the DC2niverse, itself. ;D What else could I possibly call it? Glad you liked it! Actually, it was Charlie's run that introduced me to the Black Flash. I always thought that was a cool concept, freaky and foreboding. I knew it was a risk to end the issue on such an ominous and somber note--- but the gamble was that Barry's optimism and heroism would be what shone through, and I hope that's what happened. As a matter of fact, you can get more Earth-Two right now by clicking over to our sister-site, the DC3, and checking out the debut issue of Justice League Legacies (featuring some of the characters only glimpsed here)--- it's Riz's brainchild, and a true tour de force by one of the DC2's greats! (Thanks for the nice segue to plug, John!) Thanks alot for the feedback, Mr. Elbe!

What can I say? Dave, I can't thank you enough for bringing these characters and this story to life. Well, I would argue that it was your ideas, drawings and notes that did that--- I'm just happy to be a part of this wonderful concept! Thanks, Brandon! Barry is one of my favorites, too! The one character they have never brought back, and the one I'd want to see the most! As am I! In addition to Justice League Legacies at the DC3, I just want to mention that I have plans to work with the Earth-Two characters again--- in a mainstream DC2 title--- very soon (but the rest I will keep to myself for now)! Thanks for reading, and for the feedback, Brandon. Your blessing on this issue is a relief! And maybe someday soon, we;ll get to see those other Flash stories you've got swirling around in your noggin...?

This was such an amazing story! Just seeing David, Brandon and Charlie's name together gave me a bit of a lump in the throat. . For the record, it was a thrill to be connected to this. Hopefully Charlie and Brandon (and Scott? Whaddya say, Wang?) and I can do it again someday...! I hear you! And that makes two of us (though, more likely the number is in the hundreds)! Thanks for seeing it that way, Brian! I really wanted to harken back to that time, and that issue. Of course, in this instance Barry is the classic Flash, not Jay! That's the genius of Brandon's idea: it turns the E2 concept on its head, while remaining nostalgically true to the characters. When it comes right down to it, these stories are all about the characters we love. We want them to grow and develop and live. The Flash family is very suitable to this type of story. You can, you know! I can take it! Especially if I write a stinker. But I thank you very much for your continued support, B. And no one is more gratified to see that vision still alive and thriving today, thanks to folks just like you, sir! Thank you, Brian! I always look forward to your feedback!

Oh typical, I get stuck with an issue by some of the site founders just before my run. I blame you, Charlie, are you determined to make everything I write look bad by comparison? No, in all seriousness though, I really did love this issue. It's great to see the DC2 link in with the DC3, but more importantly, it's great to just read a really, REALLY good Flash one-shot! From start to end, this was one of my favourite DC2 issues yet. I mean, I wish I could break with the majority here, but when it's this good, that's hard to do. This issue was certainly full of surprises- be it from Carrie, the role of Wally, or even all the sly references to COIE and DC continuity at the time- not to mention the biggest surprise of all at the end. I'm not going to list the things which were done well, because frankly, I don't have anywhere near enough time, so I'll settle for my criticisms of the issue: ... That done, kudos guys on a great introduction to the DC3 for a lot of peace and a really nice issue.

Thanks alot, Kevin! These are fun characters to play with (as you well know ), with a legacy of heroism that rivals the Man of Steel himself (IMO). But I know that as the incoming writer of this title, you are going to take it to all new levels of greatness (to see what I'm talking about, people, everyone should check out what Kevin is doing at the Marvel 2 with Fantastic Four). LOL! Much appreciated, sir! Thanks again for reading, and for the feedback, sir! Very much looking forward to your run, starting next issue!

Boy, today's the day when I'm being suckered into reading all the books I normally don't...and I'm not regretting it in the least. I figured I had to peek in here, just to see what our first "intercompany" crossover looked like, and I have to say I am humbled and amazed...but that often happens when I read David's stuff.
This issue was like a love letter to both the Flash and the pre-Crisis DCU. It gave us a glimpse of what could have been, had COIE not happened, and all those characters been given a chance to grow old gracefully, passing the mantles on the younger generation (even though some of these "Earth-2" characters probably wouldn't exist if not for events like CIOE and such). The whole concept intrigues me, and I will give the Legacies book a shot...especially since David's writing it!
PS to David: if you tell me one more time that I'm a better writer than you while you keep churning out these tear-jerkers, I'm gonna drive down to Florida and smack you with that metal I-beam on the cover!

Wow, Susie, thanks for saying so... I'm humbled and amazed that you feel that way. Actually, I am extremely grateful for the way this issue has been received. I know the DC3 has been around for a while, but this is the first link to mainstream DC2 continuity, and I hope it leads new readers over to the absolutely wonderful stuff that is going on over there. The Multiverse lives at the DC3! You hit the nail right on the head, Susie. That is the simple beauty of the concept as imagined by Brandon. Excellent! Another new member for DC3! The truth will be plain for all to see in just two and a half short weeks, Mrs. Hillwig! Seven Soldiers of Victory #1 is gonna hit this place like a big Hollywood summer blockbuster! (Trust me, people, I've seen it; it's good.)

The original idea was that there was a Crisis, with some similar consequences, but not one that ended in the destruction of the Multiverse and the merging of the 5 central Earths. All the major events of the DCU were to be mirrored in some way or other. But what these guys come up may be different and that's the fun part for me. Please do head over to DC3 and check out Legacies though Susie. You won't be disappointed.

Yeah, do head over to DC3, Susan, and feel free to read ALL our great offerings. Earth-Two is starting up in a big way, and Earth-Five and Earth-S have been going strong with great stories for a few months now. As well as Maximus! Lots of good stuff for everyone to read. You're welcome to read some of the other stuff on that site too, Brandon. Take care Don

Incidentally, I noticed that this issue bore the name of the working title "Flashes of Two Worlds!" instead of the final title "Flash of Infinite Worlds!"
The homage is obvious, but the update is fitting, given the nature of the Multiverse.
