It doesn't surprise me that Ollie and Connor didn't really say much to eachother; that will take time. And it also doesn't surprise me that Kobra is still around; and who knows their leader may not really be dead.
What did surprise me, but shouldn't have, was the fact that Ollie rushed back to the Outsiders. I feel stupid for not seeing that one coming.

As I was strolling through, catching up on the issues put up in recent weeks (boy I'm behind on my reading), it occurred to me that it's a tradition for the editor to not comment on an issue (on the average).
Occurred to me also, I don't know why. LOL I love this issue when I got it, so I'll break ranks and make my praises here.
Brian has a great pacing to this story, light action that touches on various sub-plots and the characterization is very solid. I loved seeing fragments of KOBRA running around unware of their leader's absence, it made a nice sort of sense. I look forward to what would seem to be some solo Connor action next month, and seeing more of Eddie and Mia.
Good work, Brian, keep it up.
Take care Don

The interaction between Ollie and Connor is nice, but I think I prefer Connor and Mia. The pair are two ends of the same spectrum and their conversation, for however breif it was, was fun.
This issue was a nice break after the "Chasing Mia" story. Connor coming into his full role as a hero is nice to see and the ending is an appropriate time to show when Ollie got the call back to Vegas. Good stuff. I'm wondering where this will lead to.

Whoa. Nice. Brian, you never CEASE to impress me. Everything was pitch perfect. The dialogue, the set pieces, and YES! Vegas, baby! 'Nuff said.

And it also doesn't surprise me that Kobra is still around; and who knows their leader may not really be dead. I hope it made sense, Jay. Ollie has always been a bit uncomfortable in that kind of situation and Connor is understandably hesitant, not knowing his father real well to begin with. This is the beginning of their bonding. And King Kobra not dead? But he went over the waterfall? Even though Ollie has business of his own to take care of, he will always be loyal to his "team". And if anything is going to affect his girl, he sure is going to be there! Thank you for reading and responding, my friend!

You know, it's a rule that as Editor, I've always went by (usually) myself, and I don't know why I do it. I've tried to break my habit of doing it, myself, because I think every writer wants to hear from their editor as well as everyone else. And glad you liked it! This was, indeed, a character driven story and a wrap up of a particular sub-plot (KOBRA), while laying the groundwork for things to come. And yes, Connor actually gets his moment in the sun, next issue. Let's just hope he doesn't get burned! Thank you, Sir! A writer is only as good as his editor, and your patience, help, and advice are appreciated, always.

Wait til you hear their wedding vows... oops! Connor and Mia will have many more conversations. Although, credit has to go to Don for helping me with some of the dialogue on that scene. I have a fifteen year old daughter, but she talks so much I've learned how to tune her out. LOL! Until I hear the word, boyfriend. Glad you enjoyed the interlude, and I can tell you exactly where this will lead. It's going to lead right to the next issue. ;D Thanks for always reading and supporting my work, Sir! OH! and a very Happy Belated birthday too you, as well!

Just pieces of wood. It's all an illusion. Thanks for the kind words, Sir. AND... thank you Ramon for the awesome cover! As soon as I saw it, I heard the Andy Griffith theme playing in my head. ;D

I'm way behind on my DC2 reading, so I've been hopping around at random. Because of that, I read New Outsiders before this one and accidentally spoiled the ending. Despite that, I actually enjoyed this issue more than NO. I'm sorry, Brian, I know you worked really hard on that issue of NO, but with GA, you always seem to write in a more genuine voice, like these are real people with real problems. It never disappoints me on any level. So now the two old codgers have some young'uns to deal with. This is gonna be fun (can't wait to see how Eddie copes with having Mia around!). I liked how Ollie kind of took a step back during the fight and just watched Connor kick butt. Is that fatherly pride I see? Five stars, all the way.

I'm going to blame it on them going back to The Fourth World. Yeah... that was it... I enjoyed letting Connor take the stage while Dad watched. It was a cool moment to write. Eddie and Mia will return, I promise. But next issue is a Connor solo, and I hope everyone enjoys it. Thanks for reading and your honest feedback.. it's always appreciated.

Some thoughts on this issue... The opening scene with Ollie, Eddie, Conner, and Mia was fun to read. If the plane ride back took up the entire issue I wouldn't have complained. Eddie and Mia need to come back...soon! Bruce made his building one floor taller. Over compensation....Too freakin' funny! So father and son do the traditional patrol the streets gig together huh? I liked it in a not so overly sweet and sentimental kind of way. I think the slowly get to know you approach was extremely realistic given that they just met and was done perfectly. Kobra is dead? Why that son of a .... Ollie has to rush off back to the New Outsiders and head to Apokolips? I am off to catch on NO's now! Thanks Brian! BTW, I totally loved the cover. The black & white coloring really fit the mood and style of the cover and the story. 5 stars guys because this is title remains rock solid perfect.

Now that would have been interesting to write... You haven't read #9 yet, huh? Thank you. I thought it was too, but you're the first person to comment on it. ;D Glad you thought so. It seemed to make sense, since this really is about two grown men, both with their own thoughts and views on the world, getting to know each other for the first time. It's going to be a slow process, but I hope you enjoy the ride. Yeah... Kobra's dead. Uh huh. That's what you get for missing staff meetings. ;D Ramon has done an awesome job on every cover and I have a special place in my heart for this one since I asked him to draw something reminiscent of Andy and Opie from The Andy Griffith Show. Why Roy didn't want to draw that, we still aren't sure. Thanks for reading it, John, and for responding. [/quote]
