So, this is the game change issue. And it was worth the wait-- Connor is in the driving seat, it looks like, and a more appropriate move could not have been made. Ollie is at a low point, Hal and Barry being verbally smacked down by the emerald archer and Ollie getting physically smacked down by The Flash. Crikey. He deserved it-- but then again, those two wouldn't leave him alone. He needed to be left alone, and I can't wait to see where he'll go now. Brilliant issue, Brian. You're getting back to the pinnacle of excellence that you've hit before on this title, and I won't stop reading. Brilliant.

This was one of those "cross my fingers and pray" issues. Mostly because I kind of liked it myself, and that usually means I get extra nervous. LOL! The stuff with Hal and Barry was one of my favorite parts to write. I love the three of them together. The dynamic of those three personalities is really fascinating (though I don't really do it the justice it so deserves). I also wanted to bring Ollie and the book back into the DC2 fold a bit more with the acknowledgements of everything that has been happening in the other titles. As for where Ollie is going to end up now. Well, he's going to be hanging out with some other really cool heroes who don't get half the credit they should. ;D But have no fear, he'll also be seen occasionally in this title as well as... New Outsiders!  Thanks for reading, responding, and really liking this issue. It makes me feel like my own satisfaction with this particular story is validated. |
