This anthology definitely gets high marks for diversity, for certain. Quite the cast of characters with a multitude of different stories going on.
Strong attempts at theme and atmosphere running through each entry, and I was particularly happy to see certain figures used, most specifically Zauriel. The Katana short-short was also quite interesting. All in all, a good collection of tales, and I think each writer should feel pretty proud of the contributions.
Now it's time to make House of Mystery regular...or start up House of Secrets. lol What do you say guys?
Take care Don

I was thinking of the same thing, Don. Spoke about it briefly with Charlie.
I have to say that I also agree on the diversity. We had a lot of characters used in so many different ways, and I found the stories easier to get into than before.
I particularly have a love for Jay. A's "The Price is Too High" because it was cool to see Neron and Delirium and I think the story was just great.
All in all, this was a bit shorter than the last, but I think the content was just as great.
Exalts to everyone who worked on this, when I get the chance!

Glad to hear I'm not alone on the idea of a regular series. I have some notions (that I also mentioned to Charlie) about it. So perhaps we'll all have to talk. Take care Don

I too was talking to Charlie, and he of course had ideas...
Wait.

Special marks for "Soultaker", "Mercy", and "Endless Lives". Shade needs to get a clue.
"Pale Ones" fooled me at first, I thought it was going to be a story of the white man's invasion of North America as it historically happened.
The Dr Occult story was in some ways terribly sad.
Zirron's story about Arion scared the hell out of me.
More? I'll get back to you on that. Have lots of other stuff on my plate right now.
Glad my story was well recieved.

Okay, let's review!
Jay A Delirium/Neron: "The Price is Too High" Very good. I've always liked Delirium, and I particularly liked the way you showed her speech pattern here, all fUnnY foNTs and such. Also great to see Neron get put in his place by a character he sees as mostly harmless.
Jay Z Arion: "You get what you wish for" Can a story be creepy and funny at the same time? Because this was.
Don Walsh Past Heroes: "The Pale Ones" You got me good, Don! I'm guessing the massive beast the Indian ghosts shot must have been Faraday's car?
Charlie Katana: "Soultaker" Doc Occult: "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" And also: "More attrocities" Mixed bag here. Katana did nothing for me, the Doctor Occult really grabbed me (and makes me want another issue!), and "More Atrocities" started off like an off-kilter homage to Luke Skywalker on Dagobah and quickly turned into something worthy of an old EC tale. Great job!
Masoud/Crow Blood, Shade and Hob: "Endless Lives" Vanessa Van Helsing: "Hunted" Zauriel: "Mercy" Cain/Abel/Reader "House of Mystery narration"
Liked the little peek into the tradition of three immortals (and their opinions on their fellow long-lifers). The Van Helsing piece was alright, but didn't toally grab me. Zauriel took me by surprise, well done! And good ol' Cain and Abel...nice twist at the end of what is normally just bumpers between stories. "Damn his Vincent Price voice" indeed! ;D

Thanks for the feedback Susan! You always give great feedback on these anthology issues!
As for my pieces, I'm glad you enjoyed most of them. The Cain and Abel piece actually just came to me toward the end of the project. I felt like I needed something a little more fun than just introducing the writers and their stories, and I got the idea to use them...the second person perspective and ending evolved from that. I think it was more fun to write than the stories!

I'm glad to see that my twist has caught people by surprise. Always nice to still be able to trick the reader. Of course, the big question now is...do the readers actually catch on to who is the actual antagonist of the story? There is a monster lurking in the depths of this tale after all. heh heh heh
Take care Don
