Aww come on Dave! Not HIM!!! He was my absolute favorite! Of course the fact that I stayed intranced through the entire issue as well as upset at the major twist, should show what has always been the case when I read your work. You create the world so vividly that I can't help but get swept up in it. There wasn't a missed beat in this first issue, and I'm glad you've used this new series to focus on that dangling storyline that you've been teasing us with for a while now. I just hope I don't have to wait so long for the next issue (and the next issue of JSA for that matter). Also, very high marks on the artwork for this issue. Not only the awesome cover (My name is Man... SandMan ;D), but the interior work is gorgeous as well. I will be anxiously awaiting the next issue. Just don't keep me waiting to long. I know where you live! Not really, but I'll stalk you on Facebook.

Aww come on Dave! Not HIM!!! He was my absolute favorite! Alas, him. None of us get out of this life alive, and it was his time. If it's any consolation, Brian, he is a favorite of mine, too, but his is a dangerous business, and the Fourth Reich will be the greatest threat the JSA will ever face in their long career. There are going to be casualities, and he was just the first. That being said, my plans for this title include showcasing some Golden Age adventures, so he will definately show up again in flashbacks, and we can enjoy him in his heyday! Why, thank you, sir! Very kind! I am taking some liberties with DCU/European geography, and venturing into territory usually trod (with far better finesse) by Messers Elbe and McIntyre, but I think everything pieces together! Yep, this is it. This is the biggest JSA story I plan to tell. It's been building since Day One, and with this issue, it is really only just getting started--- a lot of stuff will feed into it, and a lot of stuff will come out of it. Suffice it to say, that this storyline will be as significant to the JSA as World War Two was. JSA: Classified #2 will be out in two weeks, at which point Justice Society of America # 9 will resume its regular "monthly" schedule. I know! Rimmer's got talent oozing out his ears, and is a fun guy to collaborate with. Next issue he has an awesome "Coming soon in JSA..." type picture (like they did in the DCU title a few years back), and there may be more Fourth Reich (at least one more coming up next issue) characters for him to design! LOL! That's a deal, my friend! Thanks very much for reading, and for the feedback!

and d, i hate you man, i was on my lunch break in worlk today, and meaant to just look at the issue, and ended up reading half of it!! Sorry, buddy! Hope you didn't go hungry--- the least you deserve is a lunch after the stellar work you did on this issue! Glad you liked my Sandman Mystery Theatre take on Wes! Others around here do the noir thing much better than I (just check out Don Walsh's Danger Trail to see what I mean), so I really appreciate your comment! Thanks for the feedback, Jamie! Looking forward to hearing what you thought of the rest of the issue!

Aww, crap. Going to have to find a new Doctor for whenever I maim anyone, aren't I? I discovered in this issue that I like Nazis. I do, they're always so interestingly designed, and that's the sign of a great collaboration between Jamie and yourself, Dave. Nice work and nice integration of some Kingdom Come concepts (this design for Masterman is from KC, right?). Shame about the "inevitable death", but I saw it coming (I did believe the ending! ) but it was nice to see him not go down without a fight. I'm a big fan for the moment-before-death-prediction-of-defeat, and this one was no exception. An interesting debut, and I'm hoping we see a nice rotation of characters a la the Classified books in the DCU!proper.

Aww, crap. Going to have to find a new Doctor for whenever I maim anyone, aren't I? Well, for the time being, anyway... I must not be doing this right... That's all Jamie. Couldn't stop him if I wanted to. In fact, his designs have a huge impact on how I write these characters (for instance, look for some wild stuff from the Valkyrie)! Yes, and no... I took the liberty of deeming him Masterman (he was just the uninspired Von Bach in KC), plus he has a different backstory. But the image is too iconice to waste. As is often the case, I'm not sure what you're saying here . Why do you think his death was inevitable? How in the heck did you see it coming? And what exactly are you believing about the ending? I think it's more like defiance against a confidant foe--- no member of the JSA is going to go down easy (but I'm going to make a prediction here: the Nazis have a second shot here, and they won't go down easy, either). Glad you thought it was interesting, Charlie. I'm not sure exactly what the lifespan of this title will be, I kind of bumbled into by accident! The main title is knee-deep in the big Earth-Two JLA crossover, and I didn't want the Fourth Reich stuff to sit too long out of the reader's attention, so this story was conceived originally as an annual. But that didn't seem right, as it really doesn't feature the team, but various team members... and the Classified appellation was just sitting there waiting for me to pick up (and it works well, given the spy-thriller flavor of this two-parter). So, voila: a limited series! I haven't spoken with my JSA collaborators yet (Alex and Jamie), but there may be announcement soon in regards to the future of this title, so watch this space! Thanks for reading, and for leaving the feedback . Stop back in eight short days for the conclusion!

I was making a reference to the solicit, "YOU WON't BELIEVE HOW THIS ONE ENDS!", ha. As soon as you make a comment like that in a solicit I go into something expecting something big to happen, something bad. And when the Nazi's caught up with him, well... he wasn't going to get out of there, I don't think.

Frankly, I think the demise of a character with a nearly 70 year history is both big and bad, but perhaps a foregone conclusion given the hype of the solicit (but then, if the solicit got you to read the issue, I can live with your quibble). Thanks for the feedback, and maybe the conclusion of this two-parter next week will be more your speed .
