ATOMIKA
Secret File
Secret Identity: Josephine Morgan Pratt
First DC2 Appearance: All-Star Comics Annual #1
Status: Hero
Base of Operations: JSA Museum, Manhattan; Calvin City, CT
Occupation: College student at NYU
HT: 6’8
WT: 210 lbs
Eyes: Auburn
Hair: Blue
Powers and Abilities: In addition to the intense physical training provided by Wildcat, Atomika has inherited the nuclear-powered punch of her father, the Golden Age Atom.
History: Named for Joe Morgan, the boxing coach who trained a generation of champions and heroes, Jo Pratt is the youngest daughter of Al and Mary Pratt. When she was eleven years old she was kidnapped by Per Degaton, the self-proclaimed Master of Time and Space, and made a pawn in his masterplan to destroy the JSA. Jo was brought to Nazi Germany, to the Wolfsschanze, Hitler’s own retreat, and trained and brainwashed with Ray Terrill, Jennie-Lynn Hayden and Todd Rice, Jesse Chambers and Deanna Barr, and forged into the instrument of Degaton’s revenge, dubbed his Infinitors. Launched against the JSA at its lowest ebb, when many of its members were dead or too old, the Infinitors were brought into the modern day. In a battle against the JSA in the Museum, the Infinitors were freed from Degaton’s influence by the Spear of Destiny, but it was Jo who had seen the truth first, and had denied Degaton, leading to his downfall.
Embracing the Infinitors, the JSA took in their wayward children, and re-formed their legendary team to train them to take up their heroic legacies. Jo and the team first saw action in the battle against Starro and Luthor’s Secret Society, and has since proved herself as a powerhouse of the JSA.
In the year since her return to the present, Jo has enrolled in school but devotes most of her time to her career as an adventurer. She divides her time between her parent’s home in CT, the Museum, and the JSA Academy in Westchester. She is closest to Jesse Chambers, but she has an unrequited (and secret) crush on Wildcat, which causes her no end of anguish and embarrassment.
