My first thought is that Cosmic Boy is getting a whuppin when Ultra Boy see's him with Phantom Girl.
My second thought is, good issue. Dramatic and intriging with good character introduction, though I can't help make connections between this and 9/11 conspiracy theories. Sorry if I offended anyone with that comment, it's just what I saw.

For someone who's not a reader of any real ongoing Legion miniseries (I picked up a near complete run of Legion but it needed the ongoing Legion of Superheroes book to make sense, so I only had half a run) this book is a surprise. I mean... It's good. Really good. Congratulations on some amazing writing Scott, the DC2 cosmos are in good hands indeed.

Wow! Nothing kicks off a new title better then a bit of mass genocide! Excellent first issue, Sir! I sure wish DC's version could hold my interest as much as yours does. Just like in your GL, you have a real passion for these characters and it shows by how well written they are. Outstanding first issue. Like the Governor once said, "I'll be back."

Outstanding first issue. Like the Governor once said, "I'll be back." Don't you mean "The Governator"? ;D And that was a great issue! And I'm not a Legion reader, heh heh. I have studied it on Wikipedia, and I do have Man of Steel Vol. 4, which covered the "Death of Superboy" storyline, and that's all I read. Can't wait for more.

It took roughly 1000 years and 6 months to finally get to read issue #1 and it was worth the wait.
Being a long time Legion fan I was very happy with the teams debut in issue #0 and that carried over here. I can't imagine anyone else writing this story but you Scott.
Was that Dick Clark's rockin' new years eve? Either way the new year and the storyline started off with a bang. I know this issue was held back due to the crisis so I look forward to seeing what happens next month.

The wait is over! The Legion is here! Nice mix of different incarnations of the team: a little bit pre-Crisis, a touch post-Zero Hour, and your own twists thrown in for flavor. I agree with UDC, Coz is gonna get flattened by Jo for snogging on PG! So, are those villains who I think they are? I won't speak their name if you don't want to spoil the surprise, but I will say that it brings back memories of my mid-80s intro to the Legion...kind of brings it full circle, if you catch my drift.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!
I apologize for the horrifically long delay in this stories release, but y'see, there was this crisis and all... then there was a re-write... followed by another re-write... you know the drill. At least my editors do. None of my finished product usually resemble the final release.
Jo's introduction to the team is going to be unlike any that has come before... and it happens pretty quick. I may actually incur the rath of some! We shall see...
By issue 2 the evil group behind the atacks will stand revealed... though their master will remain hooded for a while. Some of you may pick up on a few hints in the next issue as to his or her identity. Then again, some of you may already know it since I can be a bit of a blabber mouth at times. I'll just say, his or her seeds were sewn many months ago... elsewhere.
No comments on Winema, huh? Interesting...
Now back to the keyboard, I have an issue of Green Lantern due a little too soon for my taste & a mid-term in Adobe Illustrator tomorrow!
GULP!

I had the pleasure of reading the first draft of this issue--- oh, six months ago!--- and really liked it. But, as Scott is a perfectionist when it comes to his stories, there is never really a final draft, he just keeps chipping away at the marble until the Pieta stands revealed--- so this issue was a revelation to me! What a thrill ride! From the first scene (KA-BOOM!) to the WTF twist at the very end, this issue delivered. The characters were fun to watch, and are a nice diverse group to begin with (everyone's favorite sub graduated!)--- but there are some conspicuous by their absence (can't wait to find out what happened to Imra! Bring on Ultra Boy! Will the Superboy connection be explored? Laurel Kent! And off to Colu next issue!)... I am so excited that the LSH has finally exploded into the DC2. This is the book that, in my opnion, completes our roster. The LSH are such an integral part of the DCU, and we have been without them for too long. The 80s run just prior to "The Great Darkness Saga" is my favorite Legion-era, and (maybe I'm projecting), but this has that era written all over it! Like Susan, I see a little of everything here that makes the LSH so enjoyable. I have some inside knowledge on the Big Bad here, but I am really looking forward to watching Scott expand upon the mythos that he started building from the very first day of this site, through other projects, and culminating in this triumphant debut! Did I mention how geeky-giddy I am about this title? The cover is fan-freakin'-tastic, and no less than what we've come to expect from Scott and his one-time artistic collaborator Jim Dufresne (Jim, you should drop us a line every once in a while, ya bum! ). But I would also like to point out the contribution of the editor, Mark Bower. As I said before, I read the first draft of this issue--- and it was great!--- but the finished product was awesome. I know that Mark shares Scott's enthusiasm for this team, and the two have established a working relationship that will propel this title into the stratosphere. There is no substitute for that kind of synergy between a writer and an editor--- and these two are two of the best! Five stars all around, gentleman! I am impressed and breathlessly awaiting #2!

I have nothing but respect for every editor here. It's a tough job! But also working with Mark closely on NO I want to say that this man is awesome at it! He brings a lot to the table and deserves just as much recognition and kudos as the writers that work with him! Just had to add my two cents.
