This was a classic Catwoman tale in every sense. But it was delivered by one of the best writers here, which also meant it was going to fresh, exciting, and finally unpredictable. Just when I thought I knew how Selina was going to be portrayed here in the DC2 you up and pull a fast one David! The little bit at the end capped off a great debut issue. The potential to a series like this was felt right off the bat. I truly feel for the guy who has to follow this.

Thanks, John!
And I happen to know what the writer for #2 has in mind--- and believe me, it will blow you away! Think of the two most bad-ass villains in the DC2--- then pit them against each other and watch the sparks fly!
You really should check it out...

Nice job on the story. It sets up the basics of Catwoman's character, which is all we need right now. Plus the cover was pretty cool.

(Who are the villains in the next story?)

Next issue... Deathstroke vs Deadshot!
Me like this Dave. Me like this a lot. Obviously set in the past, back when Dick was Robin (or maybe the future? When... Is... Y'know...) but the real question is, after that lovely tale... What has she been doing for the past couple of years? Curious and curiouser...

Next issue... Deathstroke vs Deadshot! Saw it coming. It happened at the end of Villains United. Deathstroke won. -UDC

You think Deathstroke will win here? He might, but know this: WHOEVER WINS......WE LOSE! BTW I had to stop back in a say that now that the covers up it is truly the cats meow! Yummy! Can I say that here?

Yes, but happens when it's DC2 Deathstroke and DC2 Deadshot? Great job D. I have to say though that once Batman and Robin appeared in that room I started picturing them as Adan West and Burt Ward, but not in a campy way. Once the chase started it brought me back to more current incarnations. I really enjoyed this issue and I am glad to see you writing more now with the crisis and your WW run wrapped up. Now, how's about some JSA?

That's kind of funny that you mentioned Adam West and Burt Ward in that scene, Chris. After reading it through the first time I told Dave the same thing. It was very brief, but it was there. It was a pleasure to have been able to read this story before it went up and to help in some small way. Everything David has written on this site, has both impressed and entertained me. This is no exception. Great job.

HaHa. I was worried I'd been left alone with the T.V too often as a kid. I am glad you caught that too. At least I know I am not the only one. Upon further review I ithnk what did it is Robin pounding his fist into his palm. That's awesome.

Julie Newmar. Don't forget Julie Newmar with Adam West and Burt Ward. She made a great Catwoman.
I've wanted to see Catwoman in the DC2 for some time now, and as always D you don't disappoint. Selina's savvy, sexy and very dangerous. This is a great character to take the ball and run with, and I hope someone does it in the bat-titles sooner than later.
A great introductory story with a ton of room left to expand upon and delve deeper into. Not to mention it was delivered with the terrific style of one of the site's best writers. Great way to kick off this title.

Thanks, fellas!
The Adam West/Burt Ward homage was entirely intentional. I just couldn't resist it...
I can't wait to see where the Batwriters take Selina next. She's a character with a ton of story potential!
Also, funny you should mention JSA, Chris... Did anyone catch the JSA connection in this issue...? There very well may be some further developments spinning out of this story...

I think. Something to do with the Bahdnesian Prince Valkrim?

I think. Something to do with the Bahdnesian Prince Valkrim? Vikram, but yes, correct. Bahdnesia is the ancestral home of one of the Golden Age JSAers...

Wonderful as always, David! From the stunning cover (yes, Roman, yummy is acceptable) all the way through the story, this was great. I didn't realize until now that we haven't had a Catwoman story in DC2, but this is one heck of an intro. And did I detect a subtle continuity change here, with mentioning a former finace for Selina? What happened? Will we ever find out? And most important...will David be kind enough to write it for us?

Glad you liked it, Soose! But I am glad to leave these wonderful characters in the capable hands of John and his handpicked team of ninja man-bats--- I mean writers!
That being said, I think I may have a creepy little Christmas in Gotham tale for the (thus far) unannounced DC2 Showcase Holiday Special, brewing in my head, recounting a seance at Amadeus Arkham's house, circa 1921... All of Gotham Society will be there, including a corrupt cop named Corrigan and an an out-of-work British actor and scoundrel named Pennyworth...

I am kind of late to the party for this one, but I really did enjoy the read about Catwoman. I agree that the writer that wrote this did an incredible job. It's unfortunate that I had to come to the show late, but I am liking all the work I am coming across. it's well crafted... especially this tale.

Thanks for the feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed this issue. I had a hoot writing it! And, there is a subplot in this very issue that I intend to revisit when I launch my ongoing modern-day JSA title someday soon(ish)...
