this was an interesting issue. Short, an extended fight sequence with the results to be seen at the end. But it didn't thrill me. It was well-written overall, the fight was rough and hard, though some of it I had trouble with (but that's me, certain things in the course of the fight are things I tend to get critical of, so that's utterly subjective on my part). In the end though, I got little out of it, in regard to what Catman was all about (and in a spotlight issue, we should get a deeper look into his skull, who he is and why...and considering it might be the last time we see him for a while in this series, his spotlight definitely should have gone deeper in my opinion). It was good, light popcorn action though, so in that regard the issue succeeds.
Take care Don

Very interesting issue, and glad to see Catman has escaped the clutches of The Wall. Though it looks like Amanda is going to have to get going on recruiting.

I agree with Don. It was a nice read, but I would have liked to see a little bit more of Catman himself. A little more background and thoughts. Why does he want to leave the Squad in the first place, what happened before he came to Belle Reve ( I know there was a Rouges Gallery issue about him, but, you know, I haven't read that. So he was totally new to me (except for the Squad issues...)

I reread this issue because I'm planning something sinister, and I agree with all that was said before by Don, Brian and Boris. Not a lot of insight, but interesting none the less... the fight scene was well handled, I love a bit of a fracas, and it was interesting to see Catman face up against Catwoman. I liked his realisation that the Suicide Squad was bad for him. I know this issue actually informed my characterisation and motivations for him in Secret Society of Super Villains, and I kept his mindset at the end of this issue in mind when I started that series. A bit short, but tightly written none the less. Good stuff, Jay!
