It was an excellent interpretation of Wonder Woman, though Batmna #0 is still my favourite.

This is actually the first issue I wrote specifically for the DC2, and my personal favorite, thus far. There's a lot going on in this one (Steve Trevor is going to have a significant role in the DC2--- anyone care to guess at his secret agenda yet?), and that first scene was particularly fun to write. No complaints that I killed Menalippe off in the first issue (or that Steve killed her)?

Hey, I don't know her. Don't have any clue why I should care about her. If you'd said she was an original character... born to be cannon fodder, I'd buy it. No worries!

Holy crap! I saved this issue to read last because I thought I would like it the least. Boy was I wrong. Even with the hint you gave me about Steve Trevor I wasnt expecting much but now I can not wait to read the next issue. Well done and by far the best start so far(this coming from someone who only really liked Wonder Woman when Bill Messner-Loebs wrote it). Great Job David!

Excellent start David! Although I've come to expect it from you...
From someone who doesn't care about the WW mythos whatsoever, you can kill off whomever you like as long as it creates drama! And dramatic it was!
Bravo!

I enjoyed this issue, but upon re-reading it I was wonder how old Steve Trevor is...
Is he the pre or post COIE Trevor? (Neither I guess, he's the DC2 Trevor)

Steve is a retired Air Force colonel, and (ostensibly) a diplomatic attache. I would put his age at around 40 (if it helps, think Harrison Ford circa Raiders of the Lost Ark). And while COIE has not occured in the DC2, I would think Steve is an amalgam of both versions, though closer to Pre-Crisis

Great job with number one. The writing and the art were both excellent. I'm loving all of it but really having a very special time reading Queen Hippolyta. Thanks for the great read.

Truly, I have not enjoyed a Wonder Woman story this much since Perez retconned her in the 80's.
Perfect tone, part feminist, part peacenik, with a mix of all that is grand and oft times dark in classical mythology.
This is the Wonder Woman that defines the character.

Ya know .. thinking of inane things it occurs to to ask..... David, with a last name like yours and your affinity with this medium and these characters.... Well any connection to the old Charlton Comics? If not ... you could just lie and say yes .. thus increasing your growing number of fans thru building a mythology around yerself.. LOL

I think we've established that David Charlton is actually the reincarnation of Moses.
Sheesh.

Wow, I haven't been on this site for a while and shoot I miss the crisis! We'll I'm back ( ;D ;D) and I've decided to start reading a few more titles. First on my list, Wonder Woman!
This was a really great issue, as dated as it may be now. I love how you use real Amazon names, it makes the experience so much more authentic. The one thing I find strange is that there are Amazons in the "real world" or Man's World as I've read the Amazons sometime call it. From what I've read about Amazons on Paradise Island, Wonder Woman was granted gifts by the gods and access to come and go. Do the other Amazons have that access now? Anyway, it's a very intriging story that's going here and I'll check up on all my reading soon!
