Well, damn, Charlie... Where have you been hiding this?
This is indisputably my favorite of all your issues (seems like I say that about a lot of the stuff your putting out lately). This is epic storytelling!
The opening paragraph was a bit overwrought, peppered with a few "Charlieisms" ("Some announced it as the second coming, but the second coming of what?"), but set the tone for a crazy, desperate scenario.
The opening scene was just plain cool and cinematic, if a bit reminiscent. That first reveal, however, was a twist I never saw coming (I just can't spoil it)! Nice one, Charlie! You had my full attention from there to the end.
Which was a good thing, because a lot of cool stuff followed! Wendy and Marvin, the ominous mystery of the Black Sun's true nature, Bruce's words to Wondy after she kills Granny Goodness (if only DC had seen that clearly, Infinite Crisis might have been different, i.e., better), to that time-loopy ending.
Actually, this reminded me a lot of something Joss Whedon would write.
Five star issue, and a personal best, IMO. Wasn't even bothered by the intrinsic guest-star nature of the issue. It seemed natural.
Awesome cover, Ramon.
Looking forward to the next issue.

This was phenomenal! I agree a lot with what David said, especially that early twist that was just jaw dropping and enough to grab the reader by the throat and keep them going.
This is a time travel/alternate world story that really works, and again, agreeing with David, gives the guest stars a purpose for being there.
It's almost too bad that this story was a one shot. This world that you created so vividly, so brilliantly, and so thoroughly, would be an Elseworld that I would salivate to read every month.
From cover to ending, this would have been six stars and is my pick of the week, without hesitation.
Standing ovation to everyone involved!

Well, damn, Charlie... Where have you been hiding this? This is indisputably my favorite of all your issues (seems like I say that about a lot of the stuff your putting out lately). This is epic storytelling! It was always my intent to do something big with #25, and I wanted to tell a big, grand, epic story, and so this is what happened. If you ask Don, he'll tell you how obsessed I was with the concept (still am actually) of the Black Sun, and he'll also probably start weeping. The opening paragraph was a bit overwrought, peppered with a few "Charlieisms" ("Some announced it as the second coming, but the second coming of what?"), but set the tone for a crazy, desperate scenario. That was the intent! I wanted to catch the reader up with this insane world, and that was the most efficient way! Thanks The opening scene was just plain cool and cinematic, if a bit reminiscent. That first reveal, however, was a twist I never saw coming (I just can't spoil it)! Nice one, Charlie! You had my full attention from there to the end. Score! I was playing with the big reveal, and was worried I'd lose the reader's attention by being non-specific, but I'm glad the suspense/reveal worked Which was a good thing, because a lot of cool stuff followed! Wendy and Marvin, the ominous mystery of the Black Sun's true nature, Bruce's words to Wondy after she kills Granny Goodness (if only DC had seen that clearly, Infinite Crisis might have been different, i.e., better), to that time-loopy ending. Thinking about it, that Bruce line was quite self aware of the DCU, and I didn't even consider it before. This is how, in my opinion, Batman would react. And fan fiction is all about fan opinion And yes! Wendy and Marvin! Actually, this reminded me a lot of something Joss Whedon would write. Totally taking that as a compliment Five star issue, and a personal best, IMO. Wasn't even bothered by the intrinsic guest-star nature of the issue. It seemed natural. Yeah, next issue: Time for something completely different! That it was Looking forward to the next issue. God, me too

Well to tell the truth I had to read the book twice and then I went back and read the two books prior to #25 and there are still parts that I am lost on.
But I guess I could say it was a decent book and if anyone has a problem with me calling it decent tuff.
I can't really say why it was a difficult read for me since I fully understand Promethia but perhaps it was the whole black sun thing I don't know. I will try to read #26 to see if #25 becomes more clear with me. I will come back next month to try and see if things become clear.

I never read Promethea. Though that was probably a mistake, because I do love JH William's art... Sorry you didn't like it, sometimes these things happen

Well, that was a total mind-f**k, but in a good way. I was really beginning to think that I missed an issue, despite Charlie's reassurances that I didn't, but I hung in there and I'm glad I did. Great job pulling a fast one on everybody!
The only thing that made me give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that your explanation of the Black Sun was terribly wonky (and it kept reminding me of "The Satan Pit", but that's neither here nor there...). Other than that...wow. Not too shabby, son.

This was definitely one of your best efforts, Charlie. Layered, with great character moments, intricate plotting and pacing, a wonderful use of the cosmology that fit together like puzzle pieces. Nothing was included that didnt' make sense to be in the story, and it was all drawn up into a very satisfying, rousing conclusion. Fantastic!
This was a delight to edit, getting to see Charlie shape and craft this story into its current shape, and I was honored to get to do the work on it. This is a magnum opus piece, Charlie. Five stars, that's what I give this. Five stars.
And a fantastic, moody, breathtaking cover that captures the overwhelming fear and dread of this landscape, battered back by the proud and inspiring Wonder Woman. Donna's finest hour here, and Charlie's, and Ramon's. Good work, congratulations! Take a bow here, you two.
Take care Don

Great job pulling a fast one on everybody! I do try! Thanks for reading it. Originally, this was going to be a stand alone issue that lead into next issue that would wrap up the arc, but I think the ending worked much more efficiently tying up things here. That being said, there aftermath of this issue will be felt here, and across the DC2niverse for months to come. Mainly because I write too many books... The only thing that made me give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that your explanation of the Black Sun was terribly wonky (and it kept reminding me of "The Satan Pit", but that's neither here nor there...). Other than that...wow. Not too shabby, son. Well I'm not going to lie, a bit of inspiration behind the Black Sun was the Satan Pit, among other things which I'm not going to list here, heh. Damn you pseudo-magical-science... Thanks for reading!

Okay.
I don't like in medias res. I can handle it for the start of a series, but it's irritating at the start of an issue, ESPECIALLY in a continuous title (as opposed to episodic, where it's assumed you can jump in just about anywhere and know what's going on). The first time I tried to read this, I was sure that I needed to go backward to find out what was going on. It confused me, as a new reader, and turned me off of the title for too long. I don't like being so unsure what's happening for so long, and this being a big climactic issue didn't help.
I noticed almost immedately that you had WAY too many scene breaks, a lot of which weren't in any way necessary. There's no reason, absolutely none, to put a break in between two lines of dialogue that take place in the same location and time setting. That was ridiculous and got annoying really quick.
That much said, the ending was very cool, and a nice tie to the whole story. But your pacing was a little odd. You spent so much time slowly setting up what had happened here, with the moody mystery and a lot of quiet moments, only to race through the conclusion. I know with the timing it probably wouldn't have worked as well to spill this over into 26, but it ended too quick. It was also crazy long; I think if I had been editing I'd have suggested you speed up some of the beginning, and slow down more of the end.
there, i've reviewed. No go frakking read UWW1 like you promised
