Eh. Doesn't look too bad. Remember, we almost got Tim Burton's techno-electronic-bullshit-machine for a Superman movie. This seems fine.

Russell Crowe adn Kevin Costner are perfectly acceptable actors for the parts they need to play. Neither should be in a significant chunk of a Superman movie, and both have their audiences, and both can act when they choose. As for Jor-El's outfit, it's strange, but I'm willing to give it a go. And I never judge by stills (well, okay...rarely judge by stills). I still remember the uproar over the Asgardian costuming when those still were released, and they ended up looking great.
