Well everyone, it has been a great run. I will miss the site, but with the obvious inactivity and lack of traffic, I will be moving on to find another site to extend my creativity. Everyone take care and maybe I will see you all again in a different venue.
I thank DC2 for helping me improve my drawing skills over the years. Writers pushed my limits and others provided great feedback on my art.
I will miss you all. Thanks for everything.
Signing out.

Even in leaving, having to make a scene, having to drag everyone else down. A slow applause for one of the most ego centric and self-aggrandising artists as he departs the DC2. You couldn't have left quietly, without getting everyone else down? Typical.

A little birdie told me to check this post. All I can say is wow. A cowardly personal attack against someone who drew for this site for many years and spent hundreds of hours doing so. At least reveal who you are if you are going to openly attack someone. I was not grandstanding. I spent many hours working on Earth A with a few other writers and artists, and it tanked. It was time for me to move on.
Seriously, I can't say a final goodbye to everyone? If this was the impression, I gave people while being a part of this community, then well, I guess I say good riddance...

Hey Trevor, long time no speak.
I pop on and off the site now and again to see how things are going, but what with my job taking up so much of my time (and I'm sure other people are in exactly the same place) and my inspiration being at the low ebb that it is, I've not been able to contribute how I used to. Then again, I used to over contribute like nothing else, so I think I'm allowed a pass!
I can't comment on the above, but this is my opinion: The DC2 is dead when the last person leaves. If people still want to write stories, still want to draw, then fantastic.
I think it's absolutely terrible for you to announce the DC2 dead. I'm not going to shit on your contributions, because your art has improved by leaps and bounds with every piece you posted, and I'm saddened that Earth A never got off the ground, but it's really disparaging to see people leave in such a way.
Anyway, I don't mean to offend, I don't mean to be rude, but people are working here. Jay's still writing, so is Susan (hopefully see her back next!), Ellen, Pat looks to be back (come on, my son!) and Joey wants to draw given the opportunity along with passers-by and lurkers here and there. Not only that but Mark is still the solid-as-a-rock-editor-in-chief that he always has been. How do you think it feels for the people who are still writing to have you basically say their ongoing work is for naught?
I'm basically saying it's a shame to see you go, but you're not the last man standing. Hell, the DC2 is dead when Dave writes the first ever meeting between Superman and Captain Marvel in DC2 continuity. That was the agreement he and I had, anyway...!

Hey Charlie! Your timing is impeccable. My intent was not to disparage or insult anyone on this site with this post. I spent hundreds of hours on concepts while working on Earth A, and suddenly everyone left it, and there was near to no activity suddenly for months on this site. To me that defines a dead forum. Forums stay alive based on post counts. With little to no new content, it is just a ship dead in the water.
In any case, I apologize to any and all who were offended by this post, with the exception of the cowardly asshole who posted as a guest above. It was not my intent to hurt anyone with this post, but to only thank the writers and other artists who helped me grow over the years on this site, for which I am truly indebted.
With that I wish you all good luck on this site, for those who will continue to carry the torch. There are a lot of talented people left, and I am sure some great stories left to tell. Thanks everyone for the many years of creativity and excellent work.

Trevor, your art is awesome... do you want to deprive us of it?
Because I'm talking to people now. And we're going to bring it in the new year.
I'm not asking you to invest hours on concepts that won't see the light of day (but you know what, who is to say they still won't?), I'm asking that you do what you can, along with the rest of us.
As much as I want to see regular content post every week, every month, I know we can't do that. Our temperaments have changed, we've grown up, we've moved away from the zeal and abandon we used to throw ourselves into our fan fiction with, but we're all talented bastards, all of us, so why shouldn't we take it one day at a time?
I'm going to try and get Green Lantern wrapped up. After that, I have some ideas. I'm not going to invest hours talking about them, because they're simple:
If you want to write stories, then write stories.
If you want to draw, then draw.
Let's do the best we can, because as I've said to others, that's all we can ever do, in both our pretendy fun time games and in real life.
Come on, Trevor. New challenge: Let's have some fun.

Charlie, you know I love to draw, and I've been making time to draw pretty regularly now. However the guest post above pretty much sealed the deal for me, and verified for me that indeed it is time to move onto other fan sites. I will miss working with you and a small handful of writers the most. The talent pool on this site was some of the best I could have hoped to work with, and I thank Don for recruiting me those many years ago.
Thanks for the last few years Charlie, maybe our paths will cross again on another site someday.

Fuck that shit sideways, my friend, I say we prove the bastard wrong! You, me, the people want to get stuff done, we get stuff done, and we do it the only way we know how! Spectacularly! Go big or go home! I know you want to, Trevor. I want to see your art gracing books written by me again. I want to see you come up with new costumes and new designs and I want to see them on books coming out! It's a brand new day for the DC2, let's TALK.

What would you do to make it something fun again? Shots! Nice! ((Provided we're all of age in our respective countries. The DC2 does not condone under-age drinking. Stay in school, kids!))@ Trev, while I disagree with you that the site is dead, I gotta say I've been where you are. This isn't my first forum, so to speak. Sometimes you've just gotta get out, man. If you're there, I offer nothing but respect and a fond farewell. Your work is great stuff, and if you ever decide to come back/change your mind and stick around I have a welcoming hand-shake with your name on it (metaphorically speaking :-)). We're all volunteers here, having a good time, and I think we'd all do well to remember that when Guests and whatnot start making jabs. Nobody deserves to be insulted for volunteering their time and efforts in good faith just because it's time to say goodbye. Anyway, if you're done here, no judgement from me. I just didn't want the last word on the matter to be some anonymous monkey flinging poop at the wall by your EXIT sign. Respect, bro.

Thanks Matt, I appreciate it. But you are bang on. This is the first time since joining this community, that I believe it is time to move on. Charlie is a great leader, whether he realizes it or not and will be able to help take this site where it needs to go as long as people stay active. You can always contact me via DA if you ever feel the need to. I've been getting the itch to do some creative writing and maybe do concepts based on it. Believe it or not, when I was in university 20 years ago, I almost majored in English and was interested in becoming a novelist. So I don't think my nature is too far off from all the writers here.
In any case thanks Matt.
I will be removing my link to this site soon so I won't be checking back unless someone contacts me to do so for some special reason.
