Hullo friends! I hope you're not suffering too much from last night... I couldn't sleep until 5am this morning. Woke up rather late, as you can probably guess... I had a weird epiphany when I was staring up at my ceiling at 4am, partly inspired by this video, partly inspired by my lack of tangible evidence of my work this past year. I decided that I wanted to achieve something this year, and I wanted to achieve it... well, now. I spent the majority of last year working exclusively on my novel, which I wrapped up at the tail end of 2011 and am still amending to send off to publishers. That said, I want to be able to show something for all the time I spent sat behind a PC typing away, so I have decided to write a novel. I'm aiming to get 50,000 words done by the end of the month ( shouldn't be too difficult, he said, suddenly sweating nervously) and then spending February looking at sites like Blurb. I'm going to keep a journal as a go at my blog ( check it out here), so feel free to check in and see how I'm doing. You might find elements of what I'm writing familiar, as I'm taking liberties with characters and stories I have written here on the DC2, but I'm taking them far away from where they originally came from. Uh-oh! I'm not going to leave the DC2 or anything ( Green Lantern is sorted until March!) but I wanted to give this a shot and take it rather seriously. Wish me luck!

Hey good luck.
I'm also hoping to be more rigorous in my writing as well. I've devoted this last year to working on a graphic novel, but I ended up slacking off big time after I'd built up momentum mid year. Hopefully i can get back on track.
Stay inspired!

Good luck, Charlie! Just don't leave me hanging on my monthly GL fix . Would I do that to you, Dave? I mean, I did it for over a year, but would I do it again?

Managed to bang out 10,000 words today. I am now a mess and need to sleep. But I am really pleased with the progress I've made!

Logistically, I'm two thirds of the way through. Moving onto the third act tomorrow... just about to hit 40,000 words... and cry a little bit.

Haha, you die in Act Two, Joe. I apologise for my complete and utter anti-social behaviour this month. I will be back full throttle in February, but am being a hermit both in real life and online life during January. Catch up with you all soon!

I finished my novel today! Click here to check out my blog for more information. Ended on 72,400 words, which is just... well, it hurts, for one. I was wondering if you might be willing to help me out on a potential addition to my novel: In three sentences or less, what defines the horror genre for you?I want to add what you think of the genre to a section of my book (if you're willing, of course!). Your opinion would be credited! If I don't know your name could you just make a note of it next to your opinion?

Congrats, Charlie! That's quite an achievement. 72,400 words? I can't even write a strip. I wish I have talent like that.

The proof arrived on Friday, and as awesome as it is to hold the tangible result of your endeavours in your hands... you don't half notice the mistakes! I'm doing a final edit run on it this weekend and then I'll be sending off for another proof as soon as that's done, then I'll be hitting my mid-February sale date, I think, with ease. Check out my blog for more
