Hey there everyone, I just wanted to drop a line and give anyone interested in role-playing games, especially superhero games, the chance to check out this Kickstarter project by myself and James Stubbs, Deus ex Historica, written for the Mutants and Masterminds RPG, and published by small press company 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming. James and I are really excited about this, and put a lot of work into it, plus there's pieces of art by Steve Howard and Boris Mihajlovic (along with a number of other fantastic artists). There's plenty of details on the page, and we hope you check it out, and maybe even pledge. Thanks for your time, now back to your comics. Take care Don

Thanks for the good wishes, Joey. The publisher has added a new tier and some new stretch goals, and we get a look at some art and a character from the book, one of my favorites, the Time Pirate Second Hand Jim Gallows. Check it out, and a mighty thanks to those who have, and those have pledged, it means a lot! For those of you who have comic stores that dabble in selling gaming product, or get their comics from game stores perhaps, let them know that the kickstarter has special retailer tiers providing hardcover copies of the book available only this way! Missed this announcement somehow . Congrats on the new venture, Don and James! Not really a gamer myself, but I'm a fan of the talent involved, so count on a pledge from me!

Thanks a lot, David. Your support (along with others who, since he's not said anything publicly, I'll just acknowledge like this, but you know who you are, pal and thanks!) means a lot, especially coming from non-gamers. hopefully, while not a novel by any stretch, you guys can get some entertainment from great art and some plot threads running through the character entries. Maybe even inspire some great new fiction from each of you. No matter what, a big hearty thanks!
Take care Don

A friend of mine was encouraging me to sign up with Kickstarter to get funding for my novel, but this is the first time I've actually looked over the site. Sounds promising. How long have you guys had this running?

We started it out with 37 days total to run it, so we've been "live" barely a week now so far. I'd say your friend is right, go and give it a try for your novel. And then make sure to link it up here, I'll definitely pledge!

Okay wait-woah-huh-WHAT?? Dude, I had no idea y'all were doing this! That's freaking fantastic! Expect a pledge from me for sure.
Hell, if I'd known what you were up to I'd gladly contribute art. Is that still an option? Because my pen is (sadly) worth more than my bank account right now.
I mean, expect a pledge of course, but I'd love to be part of this (or your next) venture.

Well, we continue to climb up in the totals, and now have passed the halfway mark. Even better, we're less than 200 dollars away from two thousand dollars...that's right, we're almost 2/3 of the way there! To give everyone some idea of what's included, this will bring you to the update page and a chance to see some sneak peeks of characters that are in the book, along with art. Thanks again to everyone who's helped us out so far, and for those of you waiting to be sure, well remember: Kickstarter will not collect money until the project ends successfully. Take care Don

One more update is posted up, and it comes with a podcast by BAMF! podcaster Mike Lafferty. Check BAMF! out here and listen to more details about the size of the project, the amount of art and other cool things, and over at the update page check out the another piece of preview art. And anyone interested in a sneak peak of the final product, over at DriveThruRPG.com you can see a free PDF preview of Barb, one of our Iron Age entries. There's not a lot of people left frequenting here who haven't helped out, but just in case there's any left, I hope this tips the balance. For all those who have come to support us, again, sincere thanks, it's really appreciated. Take care Don

Sorry I haven't chipped in yet. We're in the midst of some credit card issues, so hopefully in a week or two.

We're now up to 55 supporters, 86% of our total pledged, and still have 8 days left to go. We have stretch goals we'd love to see reached as well, but we're looking good for getting this thing actually published. Thanks a lot for all the support, people!

Last evening we hit our base goal of 3500 dollars! With a total of 66 backers, and still three days left to go. While we don't expect to hit our first stretch goal in that time, we're feeling pretty proud of ourselves at 4 Winds. And I'm feeling very honored by the support from you guys here at DC2. Thanks to everyone who pledged, it's been a great feeling, and it means a lot, to both James Stubbs and myself! If anyone else is interested, you can still pledge to make the product just that little bit better, that little bit bigger a print run because we're pledging to "Kick It Forward" a program where 5% of our profits from the finished product will go back into the Kickstarter community for others.
Again, thanks a lot to all of you.
Take care Don

I'm sorry, I just got the stuff with my credit cards straightened out this weeked, but never got a chance to chip in (my entire Sunday was spent helping friends move...my husband and I were the only ones to to show up, and we busted our butts for 12 hours straight). I'm glad you guys met goal and then some, but dangit, I wanted to toss in my share as well. Please let me know when the book's available for order, I would like a copy.

Thanks for the morale support for now then, Susan! I've had more than one person bring it up and yeah the Kickstarter is done for now, and successfully so (we actually got 200 dollars over our base total, which makes me very pleased). But I'll offer up a link here when we finally get the printing and production done so you guys can find the PDF and hard copies.
Sam and I will be working on a new project for 4 Winds related to M&M as well, down the road, and we'll let you know what that's all about when I'm allowed to. So for now though, thanks to each and every one of you who pitched in or got the word out. It was touching to see the outpouring from DC2 on my backers' page.
Take care Don
