Very interesting for an opening issue, and one I think I'm going to have to reread pretty soon.
You've clearly got your cast and setting planned out, and you've thrown the reader in to the thick of it, with some brief Star Wars style context offered with your introduction as the only buffer before some pretty enjoyable action sequences.
I'm looking forward to the next issue, and hoping to see the characters and world fleshed out some more. You've clearly got different takes on the names we recognise, but we don't have enough yet to see just how different, but like I said, I'm looking forward to finding out.
Writing style maybe feels a little simple for the content (which is exciting and interesting), but possibly this is just you finding your feet with the first issue.
Good issue, all in all, keep it up.

Thanks This WAS an issue just to help me get used to it. This is the first time I've written a story like this. I'm glad you've been honest about the writing and this will definitely help me improve.

No worries at all, I've got quite a few drafts for Batman Inc. and Man of Steel that I'm pretty embarrassed about. It takes awhile to find the beat of the piece.
But again, there's a lot going for this issue, my criticisms aside.

I think the differences will be clear once you read the next two issues or so.

An interesting start, but I was hoping to get a bit more out of the opening. I agree with Fantomas, a very Star Wars-esque opening screed, but from what we've been told I was hoping to read THAT story, to see THAT play out, but you've skipped ahead XXX amount of time to now, so we'll see what comes next. I prefer exposition to be integrated into the story playing out rather than given to us wholesale before the actual story starts, but if this is your first go at this kind of thing, I'm not going to poke holes! Let's see what happens next...
