For the past 2 weeks I have seen little activity. Only 3 comments/replies and 3 stories published (including Kryptonian #2, which I wrote). Is the site going temporarily dead or something?

This site's been skirting the line between life and death for a while now. I think right now it's just a dry spell. It'll return to some life when new issues are posted. I'm writing Wonder Woman #3 right now, and it should go up soon.

Just echoing what Scott said. I know for me personally, work has been pretty demanding of late, but I'm slowly starting to catch up here. So I would expect some new releases soon. These things seem to come in bunches.

The site has been deader than this. Many have declared this site dead many times. They have been proven wrong each time.

I'm moving to another city and looking for new work, so I'm a little distracted at the moment.
I'll be back though, no question of that. I've got a ten issue Batman Inc. plan set out (and with some great covers lined up already), and Man of Steel to kick-off proper.
Just expect a little delay, that's all.

So long as someone is still posting and/or reading this stuff (and the server exists), this site will never die.

Very true, Susie. But I would like to see it actually flourish again.

Isn't it a matter of setting the right creative environment? It was done once, can it be done again?

Some of the new folk we've got here are from the dA group; if anyone's got any ideas on what else/new/different/more we can do....
(BTW, glad your back, KSM)

I know that at least from a new guy perspective, all of the existing continuity is quite daunting - both as a writer and a reader. A simple solution would be to create short (a page or so) summaries for each of the characters/books that sums up the story so far, letting readers catch up quickly rather than having to go through 40+ back issues (though of course, they still can if they wish)
A more dramatic (but perhaps more effective) approach would be a relaunch. Of course, like the new 52, but hopefully handled in a more skilled manner. It would eliminate the gap between new readers and old veterans and might just help draw in a newer audience.

Earth-A was the relaunch you wish for, Viktor; it's continuity is virtually non existent. As for Earth 1 Batman, you're pretty much already caught up.

I can see continuity as an issue. And I think it's cool to have the New 52 option as well, but it's also controversial to long-time fans. Would a neutral ground be good? Like a Marvel NOW reset to jumping on points? Better to push Earth A as a focus? Or something else?
A concerted effort to present a ground floor, new user friendly appearance would be a good step I think. I've felt this has been an issue for the site since the second or third year.

Well see, that was the compromise; Earth 1 for those of us who knew continuity, Earth A for those who don't, and could build their own in it.
And of course there's always Elseworlds. I see no reason why someone couldn't do their own continuity via an Elseworlds title. That's what i did with Titans: Resistance.

I agree with arcalian that Earth A is a good thing to focus on and try to use as a selling point, if you will. A concerted effort to present a ground floor, new user friendly appearance would be a good step I think. I've felt this has been an issue for the site since the second or third year. But this is something we definitely should work on. Right now there are tons of books that haven't been updated in months or years just sitting there. I'd think it'd present a much more appealing, cleaned up look if only the books that are currently active are featured on the sidebar. This might only be 5 or 6 books, but it won't overwhelm newbies with choice and if they wish, they can always go back to the back issues for books that aren't currently active.

Well, Monday is when the site's being upgraded.
Maybe we could see some title pruning then as well? Move the inactive titles to the archive back-up areas.
Which would leave us with...
Earth A Gotham Knights Man of Steel Wonder Woman
Earth One Batman Inc. Detective Comics (maybe?) Global Guardians (maybe?) Knight and Squire Metacrisis Effect Teen Titans Wonder Woman
Elseworlds Batman: The Way Back Harleen Jonah Hex: Shades of Gray Jonah Hex/Green Lantern: The Long Road Home Kryptonian

Detective Comics is still running. Mark is wrapping up the Ridder/Clayface 3 parter, then the returning Viktor will take over. Maybe you two need to talk, actually, Fantomas....
(Yes, Teen Titans is still coming, too. I've go both a cover and some interior art for it. KSM saw the interior art on dA)

Vik and I have chatted about how Inc. and Tec. might interplay, and I'm pretty excited to see him take the reins.

Shut up, Monkey-Boy. I started the book before the term became associated with kinky sex. Trust me, I've considered changing the title a few times over the past year or so. The only consolation I have is that I spell it with an A, while the dirty one is spelled with an E. Also, I apologize for letting WWQ fall to the wayside so badly. If you want to remove it from the main page, that's okay. Issue #25 will eventually see the light of day, followed by a genuine hiatus, and when it comes back, it will to be to tell the final tale of DC's Western heroes (at least as far as WWQ is concerned).

Hey Susan! Big fan of your Western stories! And who cares if it's called Shades of Grey, you made the name first.

What about the titles which just started an arc (e.g Adventure Comics?).

But honestly, it probably wouldn't be the worse thing for site traffic if it were a western tale of "interesting romance". I'm picturing Megan Fox...

As I told someone else who brought up that other story (I believe they jokingly said I should just "give the people what they want"), Jonah will eventually be having a bit of fun on the side (it's Jonah Hex, fer Chrissakes, it's gonna happen! Him and Bat Lash are running neck-and-neck for number of women slept with!). But if you can't wait that long, check out issue #2 and #5. That's all you horn-dogs are gettin' for now. And thanks for the praise, Hush10. Have you been reading both titles, or just WWQ?

I'm reading Jonah Hex: Shades of Grey, read Jonah Hex/Green Lantern, and read a few issues of WWQ. By the way you make a good use of the Vigilante.

Thanks, Vig quickly became a favorite of mine when I started writing WWQ. You also might want to check out Seven Soldiers of Victory for more Greg Saunders action (I wrote #1-5), and I contributed Vig stories to DC2 Showcase vol. 2 #5, Green Arrow #20, and DC2 Special #3 as well.
