Very good stuff here, David. The story starts off broken and tragic and grimy, and quickly builds up in intensity and heroism as well. A fascinating group of characters, some great potential interactions, and I think you build nicely on previous relationships, both from the New Outsiders side AND on the Justice League side. You have an appreciation for the work that preceded this, and you take it to the next stage of their careers. I'm quite excited for JLA and looking forward to the debut! And don't worry, everyone. Doctor Light was totally lying, the Soldiers have not turned their backs on Ollie; they're just going to be busy with the Iron Hand and the Five Fingers Good work and keep it coming! Take care Don

Everyone's firing on all cylinders this week! Brandon's story was brilliant, and yours was a dip into the ocean that is DC2's rich continuity! The New Outsiders unite and fight to save one of their comrades, uniting with some Justice Leaguers-- some on the reserves list and some... fired? This was a fantastic story that flew by, so many cool moments and so much ground work done for the next step in part one of the evolution of the New Outsiders! JLA has a great pedigree, a great cast, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Man, oh man. What a tale! I went in with no expectations of where the story was going, or knowledge of where the various characters have recently been. It was great to see callbacks to early days of the Outsiders, and this new group slowly pulled together. Slowly as well it dawned on me that we were seeing the famous secondary JLA (or I can't believe it's not the Big Seven line up), and holy smokes look what is coming next!
And what a shocker with Ollie! An intriguing new development - no doubt!
An excellently executed tale with a great balance of character and action that had me reading each paragraph with anticipation!

Great job! Can't wait to see where it goes from here. Poor Barbara though, she's ended up with the bottom of the barrel in her team.

Don't kid yourself, B! Batwoman heading up the Outsiders is a stroke of genius!

Thanks Brandon, I was just teasing David! I'm looking forward to seeing where this books goes and may have to eventually issue a formal challenge between this JLofA and Batwoman and The Outsiders. Now who would win in THAT battle.

The team slowly drawn together, bringing up backstory memories and just evoking the general flavour of their past together (garish, adult Sin City and ruin, devastation), was very cool for someone who hasn't read enough of the New Outsiders back-issues on DC2.
With Charlie's Justice League and this Hawkman's getting some very cool scenes. The monster-hunting alien warrior adds something to the mix, that's for sure.
I like that this team can snap at each other, that there is tension and there are insults. Always a good contrast to the JL.
Always pleased to see Ray Palmer. Well done to you for capturing the high-speed world of university science that he comes from. The slightly dead-pan professor introduction worked well, and his shrinking powers are done well too, capturing the weird science excitement perfectly.
You've assembled a really great team for JLA, and sold them here exceptionally. Fantastic issue. And fantastic artwork from Jamie, too, with some creepy, gothic Burton vibes to it.

I didn't expect that ending! Well done. Oops I wasn't paying attention and accidentally added a post to the end of the story, sorry.
