On a personal level, this was one of the first new stories that started taking form when I returned to the site earlier this Autumn. I knew I wanted to work with Fantomas, because he's been carrying the torch, writing-wise, for the last year or so, and I knew I wanted to tell a big, showy good versus evil story, very clear cut, so collaborating on Lamentation Day has been a blast. Not only working with Fant, but with Alex, Scott, David, Joey and others, just building a very cool structure to perch other stories off of. Got to see David write some classic JSA, going to see a personal favourite debut thanks to Don, and I get to tie-up loose ends from the final days of my last DC2 run. Brilliant! Big thank you to everyone involved!

It really has, and I hate that December has been so busy for me. There's stuff to come that I can't wait to get to, and I hope the readers will love it too. For me, the whole Lamentation collaboration has been a great show of how DC2 used to be (and is becoming once more). We got to do this a bit with Alex's Earth A launch, but this is the one that seemed to pull everyone in, be they new faces like myself or the returning old guard. Really great to be a part of that.

This was a very solid set-up issue, taking us several places, giving us several strands and setting some initial stakes right out (in particular with Alan and Jason) even if we don't fully understand what those stakes are about just yet. The excellent creepiness and danger of these kids and this strange undernet are great backdrops ready to explode on the scene. It's clear there's a long game at play here, and the foundation is set into place strongly here.
Take care Don

EXCELLENT beginning! This has got me HOOKED!!!! And since I am at work and do not have my hard copy with me I'm afraid I can't quote a few lines that I thought really stuck out. By that I mean they were worded so beautifully it went way past even the best fan fiction!!! I am SO in on this event. Can't wait for the next issue!

You know I couldn't find the hard copy and I have to move on to Brandon's book next (and probably get back to writing since there are things due tomorrow) but since both of you are amazing writers I'm going with the idea that you both had a hand in it. Again, excellent start!

That's okay, I think we all know who you meant.
...it was the WHIZ kids, right? Dave, Ellen and Joey's lines are quite evidently some of the most beautiful words ever to grace the fan-fiction oeuvre ("Think they sell drugs?", "Big Belly Burger always does Soder Cola, Dave,", "Is that WHIZ Radio? What the hell? Who listens to WHIZ Radio?"...these are the lines that I will be remembered for).
