I think I can speak for my writing partner Don Walsh when I say welcome to Hourman, a new ongoing we're both ridiculously excited to present to the DC2!
Please take a moment and let us what you think of our first issue!

And can I take a moment to thank Brandon for delivering such a brilliant cover? I remember when we launched the DC2 and his art graced the majority of the #0 covers, and Hourman feels like it fits right in with that opening slate of titles. So proud to be launching something new in 2014!

I read this HOURMAN #60, and I loved it! Very entertaining and awesome! Reminded me of how great Hourman was in Geoff John's JSA run. I enjoyed the Father-Son flashbacks. And the series issues counting downward is brilliant!

Very nice work from everyone involved Definitely a striking cover. I loved the first scene especially. Leaping into a non-linear story, it was definitely good to get some vague context for the skipping around, and the dialogue flowed great. Actually, all through the story, great dialogue. The both of them acknowledging each other as "Hourman" was a great little moment.

Don and I went down a weirdly awesome rabbit hole with Hourman, plotting out effectively all sixty issues (with some gaps in case we need breathing room) and I wanted to show off that work early on, so you get an idea of the scope we're working with. Brandon really delivered with the cover and Don is one of the best collaborators to have because-- and I'm sure you know!-- he pushes you to be better. #59 has been started, and I hope to see it out in the next month or so. The cover has been done and it's a trippy one! Just what you need for a book like this--!

It's not a "mainstream" title, so I don't think people will immediately gravitate toward it, but with the work Don and I have put in I think it's well worth a look. I'm looking forward to some of the older guard on the site reading the issue, because they know how long I've harboured a love for the character! I was introduced to Rick partly by John's first JSA run (the best one) and the Peyer / Morales Hourman ongoing, but the former left a massive impression on me. Matching that with the love affair I had with Starman and this is the book you get, and with a collaborator like Don Walsh you know you're in for a wild ride. Thanks for reading!

Thanks for reading and reviewing, KEROGA. Glad to see you enjoying it and I hope we can keep up the excitement. And yeah, Sam, Charlie's non-linear opening really provides for some tasty tasty tidbits to lure in readers. He's got some amazing story ideas coming up, and I'm working hard to keep the parallels between past and present stories. And yeah, we'll see a back-up each issue, and not always just Rex. Rest assured, for Jesse Chambers/Quick (or Cyclone as she is here in DC2), she'll be getting to shine in the back-up stories as well. And maybe a couple of others from time to time; you'll have to keep coming back to see.
Take care Don
