What do you think? As much as we enjoy telling these stories, is there an audience for it anymore?

If you look at the number of guests every day you are getting 200+ hits per day. If they are not commenting people are still looking at a pretty high rate. In the end though the site is for fun. I'm personally having fun making the artwork. As long as the writers have a story to tell and enjoy telling it the audience size doesn't really matter.

I’ve been mainly a lurker for a while now, but I still come to DC2 a couple times a month. I’ve really been enjoying your stories Charlie. I guess I should actually post comments on here, just so you know that you have an audience. But there’s probably a lot more people like me, lurking but still reading. So as long as stories are coming out on this site, I’ll be reading them.

I actually receive weekly stats from the DC2 letting me know where people have gone and unfortunately a lot of the time there's zero traffic, so it's glad to see there's intermittent interest. A lot of the "guests" we have are bots, they're not actual people, so you kind of get deflated when you're writing and no-one's reading. I know that's one of the reasons a few of the older guard left, they felt there wasn't an audience for it, but I've been a big believer in the DC2 and keeping it going, so I'm glad Mark is still here, still keeping that candle lit for those of us who want to keep working on the site. I've no intention of stopping (I'm written up to September on Justice League for crying out loud) but you just begin to doubt the time and effort you put in when you're writing in a vacuum!

Hi. Talking of this when I think to I drop by. Busy mostly but haven't forgotten where I first learnt to get criticism for my writing. If it didn't eat so much time I'd be tempted to do more but the site seems so big now I don't even know where to start reading or even where a good jumping on point would be

Hi. Talking of this when I think to I drop by. Busy mostly but haven't forgotten where I first learnt to get criticism for my writing. If it didn't eat so much time I'd be tempted to do more but the site seems so big now I don't even know where to start reading or even where a good jumping on point would be Well we don't have many monthly ongoings anymore, only three or four, so that's probably your best place to start. I pride myself on writing Justice League as the "flagship" title, bouncing around every corner of the site while maintaining the continuity and personalities we've established previously. To help folks out, I've been creating Arc Readers for both Justice League and Green Lantern Corps-- basically trade collections-- so you can see which issues are part of what arcs. I started that with the Bat titles too and I complete one-- Batman, I think?-- but still have 'Tec and Nightwing to finish. We have a few intermittent titles going on... Batman and Secret Six namely. Some pretty accessible Ten Year Anniversary stories... Omega Crisis just launched (set ten years into the future, no lead in required)... What do YOU want to read? Who do you LIKE to read stories about? What would make the site more accessible? We're always looking to make everything easier to get to (for example, you'll only see "active" titles on the main page, everything else is archived) but I'm not even considering a "Rebirth" or a reset. I'm here because of ten, nearly eleven years worth of our stories. If we started from scratch, you'd see the back of me on my way out!!

Also, I've been thinking about the accessibility issue. I think that there unfortunately is one, but at the same time, what makes the DC2 the DC2 to me are the stories we've told over nearly eleven years now.
I think Earth-A is a good example of an attempt to launch something new in the "DC2-style", but failing because there just wasn't the audience at the time-- and that isn't a dig at the creatives behind the project, it's just a fact of life.
Ten years is a long time to expect anyone to stick around with any kind of regularity like the "good ol' days". If we were to try something like that again, relaunching Earth-1 or some such, then I think we'd lose something immensely.
But do you want to write something? Not you, per se, but anybody? Do you want to write Superman? Well, I can give you an idea of what's going on with that character. Wonder Woman? The Flash?
Pipe up, and let us know. Just because the site appears dense doesn't mean we can't make it accessible if you're wanting to make contributions.
ALSO, I have some plans, nothing too major, to allow for continuity to loosen up somewhat. Omega Crisis has finally arrived and it's a massive story. One of the major elements involves Earth-1's timeline specifically. I don't want to get too much into details, but the net result, when the final issue hits, will be that if you write something that contradicts an event that happened before... it won't really matter.
I'll put together a more formal post in the Welcome to the DC2! subboard, but I don't think the size of the site should put anyone off contributing... but that's easy for me to say, I remember everything that ever happened up until, like, maybe, our eighth year.
Anyway, thanks for sharing, Quester. I remember your Cyborg entry in DC2 Showcase, and while I didn't enjoy it then, I look back on it fondly as Vic's DC2 origin, and keep it in mind when I write the character in Justice League.

Hey that was not the best example of my writing but this place was honestly a proving ground and the honest feedback I got I look back on as one of the best experiences I got here. I would love to write here but honestly I haven't the time at the minute. I'm job hunting right now and trying to work on children's book and get another published but this place really made me think about how to write. Don't let it go away.

What exactly is going on with the archived titles (e.g Adventure Comics)?

What exactly is going on with the archived titles (e.g Adventure Comics)? Due to the sheer amount of content in the site, any of our titles that haven't had a new issue for a year or so have been archived. Only are active titles are on the mainpage. If you're interested in relaunching a title just contact Admin! Why do you ask?

Whenever you find the time, the DC2 will be waiting.

Thr reason I asked was the last issue of Adventure Comics (pre archive) ended with a certain Superman supporting cast member in danger.

Hello there, I used to lurk around here a couple of years ago. (Forgot I'd even made an account lol). About year ago I found my way back here and I've been on at least every couple of days since, reading something. Just found this thread and although it's an older one I just wanted to say, I think this site is great. Love going through all the various different stories.

I’m also still lurking around, but I read pretty much everything that is being put out monthly. I should make it a New Year’s resolution to comment on what I read as I am greatly enjoying it. I’ve also started to get back into the mindset of doing some writing so I might do an Elseworlds tale or something for the site. I almost assuredly going to cringe at what I write first as I am very out of practice. Either way, I hope to be more active in the DC2 community in 2018.

I look forward to hearing from you as 2018 develops! I posted about it a few days ago, but if you— or anybody else out there— is interested, May is our Annual month, where short pieces (or long, to be fair!) featuring any characters will be welcomed and posted! If it’s something that might take your fancy, just let us know!

Hopefully we'll see what you think of our output as we move forward, plus there are so many back issues, there's always going to be something to take your fancy! We released a slate of titles on Feedbooks for a while but it's difficult when you're a fan fiction site peddling in another's intellectual property. Thankfully, we won't stop ticking over here.
