The rupee is one of the benchmark currencies in the world today, and growing stronger as India becomes more and more a financial power (by virtue of population and growing attention by world markets). It used to be rather laughable actualy, rupees were...a fourteenth of a cent? something like that, just a few years back, and are now much stronger.
Take care Don

The Rupee is a well known form of currency. Don beat me to posting it, but I don't think it's an age thing at all to know that. I am 22 just, and have known of the rupee since I was a wee laddie. So yeah not an age thing!! I dunno most of the stuff posted here is funny, but I didn't get the joke in the rupee one? Was it because you didn't think it was real? I dunno if the post irked me somehow maybe coming across as implied humour for the wrong reasons, ie racial humour etc? I will go back to the corner and commence with the funnies mr brierman!!! Good job on lightening the mood of my often boring days!

We may need to have a group viewing of Slumdog Millionaire. Or Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Either/or. They're practically the same movie. I mean, one has monkey brains and Mola Ram, and the other has orphans blinded by spoonfuls of acid and hot Bollywood dance steps... So, like I said: "Jai ho, Mr. Jones!"

weren't rupees the currency in the Legend of Zelda games? (I was going to say but I thought it would undermine my argument of "being real" )

Lol I may be from here but I don't have to like what went on hundreds of years before my birth!! I guess what I meant was the political incorrectness of the panel, and it kinda sorta came across in that way to mr personally I meant no offence or to imply that you personally were being derogatory about race, knightreaver, so sorry about that!

No worries bra. The one thing i do find amusing is the political incorrectness that is found in the old comics. Not that i condone it or anything, its just when compared to todays standards and such, if the comics of the 1930's and 40's were printed today there would be an uproar beyond imagination. Case in point. During the war to help in sales of war bonds, there was a action comics cover of Superman tearing apart a Japanese Zero I believe. The headliner on the cover said "Supermans says it's ok to slap a Jap. Buy War bonds." Now anyone reading that cover today would find it on the offensive side. But one has to remember when it was printed and the mind set of the ppl, especially during war times. Would it be any different then today if the cover was about the war in Iraq. Some would find it offensive, but yet others would odds are cheer the cover. There are many factors you have to take into consideration when looking at something. Its not all just black and white, now days there are so many shades of grey and double standards when it comes to political correctness that the true meaning of it all has been lost. As well as to the degree where some have abused the term just to get what they want. And in most cases do because most are to afraid to challenge the issue that they remain tip toeing around because to challenge it could lead to them being labeled as being politically incorrect or racist. I have some very strong views on this topic, views that have quite often gotten me in some hot water with ppl, mostly because they tend to miss read or miss understand the point I try to make. Kinda why I normally avoid it all if I can. lol. Ok you got me ranting in a thread that is designed to bring smiles and laughter, so I will stop there. But I will say that when ever anyone challenges me on the subject I simply reply with I dont believe in race except one. The human race. We are all equal and until we put aside all differences of race and just look at ourselves as being one race, the human race, Then there will always be political incorrectness and racism.

Saw this years ago on TV and played it for my siblings I was babysitting today: never noticed what happens at about 49 seconds into the clip... Robin set a bit of a trend, I guess, eh? www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Gx2utlWmYk
