Okay, the website is now open for business and we have a pretty good number of artists on the site now (with hopefully more to come) so I guess it's time to start the monthly ART CHALLENGE! Here's the scoop. I present an art challenge for the month (suggestions on future challenges are welcome) and you have two weeks to present a pic here in this thread if you are interested in participating. After that I'll add a poll and everyone can vote for their favorite. After a week we'll close it up and we'll have a winner. There may be a small prize involving the DC2 website and then there will be a week off before a new challenge. This isn't really a competition as it is hopefully an excuse to have fun creatively and a way to get more fan art on the board!  So, this week's challenge is AMALGAM! Draw a picture of an amalgam character and present it here. It doesn't matter which characters you combine as long as one of them is a DC character. So if you want to do a mash-up on say Superman and Mr. Majestic, go for it. If you want to make a crossover between Batman and Battle of the Planets, have at it. If you are just needing an excuse to draw a combo of Ambush Bug and Madman, awesome! If you want to mix up Blue Beetle and Spider-man, well, you can't do it. That one's mine! Ha. Anything else goes however. So get to it! Deadline is at midnight two weeks from today on Oct. 22nd. |

I'm amalgamating (sounds kinda perverse...) 2 DC heroes. Jimmy boy liked the design... I may use it for something else later... hmmmm....

Okay, at first this was going to be a quick color sketch thing but then I saw Dr. Dread's cool cover and I got an idea. Anyway, here's my Spider-man/Blue Beetle mash-up.... The BLUE SPIDER! These don't have to be covers, btw. You can submit a pic in any form, color, b&w, sketch, finished, digital, or however you want. |
