So I'm curious how some of you chose the names you have on dc2. I mean some its pretty obvious like craigcermak and susanhillwig but what about the rest of you? It's kind of a trivial question but humor me. I'll start off. Brigante was Al Pacino's last name in the movie Carlito's Way. In the Slipknot song (sic) there is a sample from that movie in which Pacino screams "Here Comes the Pain". The Sampler in Slipknot for a short time went by the name 133. Anyways, share how you came up with whatever name you use.

This is going to get long and nonsensical...
Long before I started fanfiction, I had a team of original characters. (On ff.net, you can find them in my Psionverse stories). When I'd read a book or watch a movie, I'd imagine my OC's interracting with whoever. And yes. They were blatant Mary Sues. But I fixed that.
The team leader was a woman codenamed Silver Dragon.
In a scene which I have not written, and, given the sugar-factor, probably won't...
Silver Dragon and her team are planning a joint mission with the Batcrew. One of the others says that the mission needs a 'cool codename' something like... (stupid suggestions ensue).
Up pipes SD's 7-year-old nephew with "Howabout Operation Dragonbat?"
SD and Batman look at each other. SD says something like "before we reject it... are we just kicking ourselves that one of us didn't think it up first?"
The first message board I joined was the DCMB. I wanted to proclaim my Bat-appreciation, and at the same time pay homage to one of my characters with whom I identified. Ergo...
(And I had never even HEARD of Richard Dragon!)

Before Terra, before Batman and Robin, I was a Doctor Who fan.
On the Doctor's home planet of Gallifrey there were several colleges or academies. Those that were named were the Prydonians, the Patrexes...and the Arcalians.

I play NERO (New England Roleplaying ORganization) and way back in the day, my first character was a rake and grifter and all-around sleazy man-of-action. Lissilambe was his elven name, which breaks down literally to "Sweet Tongue" because of his talking skills. I use Lissilambe for all my usernames, largely because I've a terrible, terrible memory, and just can't be bothered to try and remember who I am where. ;D
Take care don

In high school, I used MISCHIEF as my main tag name. Tag name as in defacing school property. I remember someone refering to my tag name as another personality. Like when was pissed off and wanted to get back at someone or even if I was going to play a trick on someone, this individual with insist that I let MISCHIEF out. Back in 2001, I got MISCHIEF tattooed on my left forearm. So now I use it as my pen name.
The DRAGON part of the username is for my wife. She had a love for the mythical creature since 8th grade, so almost twenties years now. And I think that a DRAGON would best describe her personality. So don't piss her off. Plus her complete nickname is Krystale Dragon.
So I combined them together to represent us here on DC2.
MISCHIEFDRAGON ;D

Crow is connected to my whole online life.
Similar to dragonbat, I have this universe of original characters and stories that I've outlined and done a few shorts on. I've worked on it a long time. The main protagonist of the entire shebang is Masun Crow (Masun pronounced like Mason), who begins the series with a feel of the comic world (which I was so inspired by all my life) and then the whole series turns different when things get revealed and the world changes.
Later on it's a mix of things, and Crow, and his family and allies, make the series turn into a mix of scifi, fantasy and more.
Anyways, I used to also role play online in chat rooms, for years, not too long after I got my first computer 8 years ago. I was into it for a few years, and each time I joined a group, or a random chat room ,my first character would always be Masun Crow.
Plus anytime I ahve to join a website for the myriad of things on the web (email, services, shopping, etc) I use a name that often has crow in it.
Plus crows are just creepy birds and they're awesome.

Tony clifton was the great Andy Kauffman's alter ego who he would appear in comedy clubs as and basically act like a total a-hole. For years he(and his"people") insisted it was a different guy.

Long story short on the name,it's the shortened name of a character in a series of novels my friend and I were writing in middle school that's short for Micheal of the Dark Dragon. I came across my spelling of Michael because at the time I honestly wasn't sure of the placement of the a and the e. And I've kept it becasue it's a unique spelling, easy for me to remember, and I just like the way it looks.

My love of Star Trek inspired my online name.
The L is the first letter of my real first name, and the latest Enterprise is the 1701-E, hence L1701E.
Before the Enterprise-D was destroyed in Star Trek: Generations, I used L1701D as my online name. Naturally, I updated it when the Enterprise-E was introduced.

I just really like clowns... On the DCMB's I go by Clownfan, then on Paperfilms I was going to register as Clownfan, but due to finishing a marathon of DBZ, I decided on clownfanofotherworld. Then people just started calling me Clown for a while, and someone made fun of me so I was like "That's Mr Clown to you buddy!" And the next day I registered on DC2... Oh, and I tried joining like a year and a half ago before that I registered under the user name ClownPen but I never got the activation code in any emails... Oh, and I used to work as a clown way back in the day
