I really think they're detrimental to the viewability of the site. I vote for change.

you do realise you can control that yourself now don't you? if you go to modify profile you will see towards the bottom that there are three other skins to choose from so you don't have to look at the default one.

I like that the dimmed colors are now the default. Very nice move. Of course Ramon is right and you can adjust the site colors in your profile.

I accidentally switched back to the original colors the other day and they burned my eyes. I'm all for the switch.
