Yeah I was worried about Synger leaving too, but from what I have seen of the trailers it looks just as good. There were rumors that some of the cast weren't coming back, but it looks like they are there. I think it will be good. Yeah Charlie I am with you on the Superman Returns thing. I'll still watch it and try it out though. The worst that could happen is Brandon Rousch gives Richard Prior a lift home.

I'm looking forward to X3 and to Superman Returns. I haven't seen much about Supes, yet, but the X3 trailers don't look half bad. I think Kelsey Grammer as Beast was a great choice. Of course anything with Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen in it, can't be all bad. Two of my all time favorite actors.

Saw X3 last night--- and it was awful. Bad story. Uninspired directing. Amateurish acting. Unworthy end to a great film series.

Honestly, I've never been a big fan of the X-Men movies. I honestly found X2 to be TV movie quality.
I really enjoyed Raimie's Spiderman series. Batman Begins was great. X-Men never really got me, and I used to be a big X-Men reader.
I think it might've been than one scene in Canada that ticked me off the series....

Saw X3 last night. It was awesome my only qualm was Scott's....'scene'. He was the only unneccesary person to have a...'scene', his didnt help the movie along much but besides that I liked it although as a fan I was annoyed that Juggernaught was British...Vinnie could have at least attempted an accent and Collosus not being Russian is like Nightcrawler not being German or Wolverine being Swedish....Angel could have done something as well....anything would have been nice.....there NEEDS to be a sequel and I should write it and Singer better be available.
Dont let me be picky though it genuinly was good.

ICEMAN FINALLY ICED UP! I dunno...Prof X worked but Juggy didnt as a Brit...yes being British I can tell you he was British and there isnt really such thing as a British accent no more than there is an American one...there are many accents depending on where ya live.

Took the family to see this today. I thought it wasn't as bad as I expected. Kelsey Grammer made a great Beast. I thought the battle scenes were well done. There were way to many mutants hanging around. Angel was a complete waist. My biggest criticism was Wolverine. He cry's??? What was that all about? I had three of my children with me and I'll give you the short take on what they thought. My thirteen year old girl spent the entire ride home telling me who she thought was "hot". God I love teenagers. My four year old son wanted to see Wolverine stabbing more bad guys. Not enough of that, for him. I'm very worried. My seven year old son shrugged his shoulders, said it was alright, and asked if we could watch Batman Begins after supper. That's my boy! For me, I'd give it a B-. The one thing I enjoyed most was the previews for the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. That looks fun!

I liked it alright, but X2 was far superior. - Cyclops was treated like a bitch, which pissed me off.
- The Phoenix idea was better than I thought it was going to be. A Space entity wouldn't have worked for this series.
- I thought the scene between Jean & the Prof was badly done... except for Magneto's genuine concern. I just think he would've been in a bit more pain or something... I don't know.
- Kelsey Grammar was far cooler in the movie than he looked in the trailer.
- Storm saw way to much airtime & what was with that spinning attack? Looked like a bad 'Street Fighter 2' effect.
- Angel was a useless character.
Did anyone stay past the credits for the little bit of 'extra' footage? As far as Superman Returns goes, the movie looks incredible! Every preview I see makes the movie look better & better & I went into it thinking it was going to suck. It has the ability to be better than Batman Begins. That's right, I said better! I say bring it on! ;D

X3 was okay. Had some good and bad points. The good: Kelsey Grammer as Beast. Wolverine finally goes primal, if only briefly. Storm gets more screen time. Awesome diplays of Magneto's and Phoenix' powers. Juggernaut chasing after Kitty Pryde. The Iceman cometh. Ian McKellen as Magneto. Patrick Stewart as Professor X.
The bad: WTF are they doing with Cyclops? WTF are they doing with Rogue? WTF are they doing with Mystique? Too many new mutants that get no characterization. No Nightcrawler. Not enough Colossus Too big a story to tell in just one movie.
Overall as entertainment it was all right. Hardcore X-fans will be PISSED.

I liked it but it had its problems. It wasn't long enough. There wasn't enough plot and character development. The editing was choppy. Wolverine was way too emotional, getting teary eyed over just about everything. The scene where they show the tombstones of Cyclops, Jean, and Xavier was kind of weird since Xavier's tombstone was four or five times larger than the other two. Plus did anyone else notice how it went from dusk to midnight right after Magneto moved the Golden Gate Bridge?

I pretty much agree with batarang to the fullest.
Storm should have got more airtime because her last two movies she was second rate and she's supposed to be good enough to be Scott's co-leader, and leader of ehr own team. The only thing I have wrong with her is that since she's just getting the attention now, and because I know they wanted more airtime for her, I got a bit annoyed with her overly proactive scenes. But in no way I think this is bad, at least she got the time.
Wolvie was tough for most of the movie, and he's supposed to be soft when it comes to Jean. That's one of the only chicks who makes him feel that way. In fact, girls and children always do that to Wolvie. So they were pretty accurate.
Beast rocked. Angel was ok but not good enough. Iceman had his good parts but belonged to a teen drama.
But in my opinion, a lot of these character issues also stem from Singer. If we're going to be lethal fan boys here Singer totally messed up the X-Men, but cinematically he did a good job.
If you don't agree, all of his characters were really off.
Wolverine got taken down by one bullet. He wasn't really aggressive except for his fight scenes, and I mean that his personality wasn't really Wovlerine. Sure he was hitting on Jean in front of Cyke, and sure he took his bike, but c'mon, that's really about it. He had a cool scene in X-2 though.
And talk about missing key elements. Lady Deathstrike had NO ties to Wovlerine except by claws and adamantium.
Sabretooth had NO, I repeat, NOOOO ties to Wolverine but taking his dog tag, and all he wanted to do was chase Storm, who apparently owed hm a scream he wanted to bloody much.
Cyclops was cool in the first one but rarely used in the second.
Don't make me start on Mystique. She rocks on characterization, but who the hell told them to make her scaly, naked and blue. Where's the sexy white dress, the long red hair, and the itsy, bitsy skull on her head?
Iceman is incredibly young and in a teen drama with Rogue.
Rogue is similarly incredibly young, has somehow taken the place of Jubilee by being Wovlerine's "sidekick" of a sorts, and pretty much has no "Southern Belle" sexiness that is Rogue.
Nightcrawler has an awesome (and in my opinion, the best display of his powers) opening scene in X2, but for the rest of the movie is a comic relief (though him saving Rogue and teleporting Storm inside was cool enough I guess).
Need I say more. If you should cast a stone, cast one at Singer too. I'm losing my love for him because of these wierd love stories he puts in comic movies (like Lois Lane having a kid with someone else when Superman leaves? That seems to really make the Superman mythos wierd). Ratner did a pretty good job trying to take on a gigantic franchise, and I don't know whether he can totally be to blame for all fo this. He only had a handful of weeks to get prepared for all of this, and the script had been touched by too directors and who knows what screenwriters before him. The only thingwe're certain he had a part in was giving Halle Berry more screentime. While the deaths/removal of certain mutants really gets me, and hit em real hard when I saw the movie, there is always a way to bring them back, and the mutants chagned to humans can always come back. Just look at the last part of the movie right before the credits...

::SPOILERS::
I hear that at the end, Moira Mactaggert is with a comatose body. Xavier was doing a speech earlier about sharing consciousness or some such with his students (I don't remember it, but I assume my source is correct) and that Moira hears Prof's vocie say "Hello" Or something. SO Prof X lives!

As far as Lois in Superman Returns... It's not her kid. It's her boyfriend/fiancee's child (who is, played by James Marsden - I guess Phoenix killed him & sent his re-constituted remains to Metropolis without powers). So fear not, she still don't know nuthin' 'bout birthin' no babies!
And I agree with Crow... way too little character development to actually care about any of the New Mutants in X3. Although Kittie was very cool.
One question though... with all the Mutants all over the place in that movie...
WHERE THE F#@k WAS GAMBIT???
For the love of God, they had Spyke from X-Men:Evolution, but not Remy?

Oh my God. You're all wrong. ALL OF YOU. That film was awesome! Phoenix was... Scary! I'm seeing the same route from the comics that Xavier is/was taking is now in the films, making him a kind of villain, you know? Wolverine cried all of... Twice? Three times max. They were emotional moments but I did think: Why? He wouldn't cry, really, would he?
Jamie Madrox was fun to see on film but I could have seen some more of him, that'd been cool... Cyclops... Ouch, Magneto... Kind of getting bored of him... But that last scene before the credits rolled... Yes! I've noticed how they've really depowered him in the films (no flying? no manipulating the ELECTROMAGNETIC waves of the Earth?) and that's kind of sucky but no biggy...
Storm was effective, Beast was fan-freaking-tastic, Rogue did the right thing for her... Iceman was awesome too, with his full icing up, you know? The worst bit? When Charlie X wakes up in that new guy's body at the end? Why'd he have his normal voice?! Shouldn't it have been croaky and unused and not Patrick Stewart? All in all... I loved it.
Angel should be in a sequel (teaching flying, what else?), Beast should be teaching science and Storm should be headteacher! Wolverine should be like the Morrison run (I'm thinking that if they do a sequel it'll be Cassandra Nova, yeah?) and come on... "The Cure" isn't going to last, is it? You move away from Leech your powers come back, give it enough time all those mutants will have their abilities back! All in all... 9/10

"The Cure" isn't going to last, is it? You move away from Leech your powers come back, give it enough time all those mutants will have their abilities back! Remember the first X-Men? Magneto tried to use a mutation inducing machine on the world leaders. Not only does Magneto know how to build another one but he was also exposed to the mutation wave twice. I think that either Magneto built another mutation machine, a much weaker one that doesn't require mutant powers, or being exposed to the mutation wave allowed him to keep his powers.

Glad you liked it, Charlie! I think there was a lot of great stuff in it as well. You're right about Beast. He was dead on. Three cheers to Kelsey Grammer! (pun was intended). But getting tired of Magneto??? Okay, maybe the character, but personaly I could never get tired of watching Ian, the man is just brilliant! IMHO. ;D
