I think this is the best thing by Morrison that I have read, although it may be too early for such a big judgement. I think the art is right for this book. It has this wonderfully simple qualty to it. Pure is the word I think, and it suits an iconic Superman very well. I am also enjoying ASBAR. I wish they would move the story along a bit though. It looks like nothing much will happen in issue #3 either. Ah well, maybe once Miller and Lee move on the book will get a team that appeals to a more mainstream comics audience. I really like the All Star concept. I hope it will become like a reward for the best in the business: 'As a recognition of your high standing in the industry, come and spend a year doing whatever you like with our most famous characters.' I know we're still a year away... but who would you all pick for the two All-Star books when the current teams finish?

Great book! I'm getting caught up on my comics and man oh man this was something else. From art to story, truly imaginative and inspirational stuff. Crazed sci-fi, a truly bumbling Clark, a mad genius Luthor, and a Lois that is hot in a whole different way than normal. Amazing book and honestly how I would prefer to see the Superman comics on a regular basis.

If anyone should write All-star (and i know this proboly wouldn't happen) but Allen Moore should. I just reread "for the man who has everything" and he would be perfect guy for it.

Josh, If you haven't read SUPREME yet by Moore then you have to check that out. It's essentially Moore's take on the Superman mythos and is really well done and lots of fun.

But I really don't think you'll see Alan Moore on a DC book anytime soon. His relationship with WB/DC has only deteriorated over the last few years.
He's maybe one of the last few artist/entertainers over 50 that hasn't "sold out" yet. The guy's got integrity for sure, and he's passed on a truckload of cash from the last few adaptations of his work to prove it.

Glantern133, Alan Moore is an amazing writer who has written some of the best comic stories. Such as the Watchmen and the League of Extrordinary Gentlemen.
And No I havent read Supreme but I'll have to check it out now.

I'm sorry, man, I know you love you some Miller, and the man is a mountain of talent, but when he agreed to do a sequel to Dark Knight Returns, a book that really did not need one, for a mountain of cash, he sold right the heck out.
Not saying he can't still do great work, but he's in the money machine now.

tsh alan wish he had it made like mr. frank miller does. miller could deficate onto a photocopy machine and it would still sell more than whatever moore is doing these days... unkempt miscreant he is.

...miller could deficate onto a photocopy machine... Funny you should mention that. Isn't that how Miller does most of his work these days?

I gotta say (echoing KSM's sentiments), I think Alan Moore is literary genius, while Frank Miller is a huge comics talent. I've never seen Moore take a misstep, and he is responsible for some of the best stories around, while Miller has been known to have some mediocre moments (My God--- All-Star Batman?!?!).

I've been told I look like Frank Miller. Even got mistaken for him at a comic book convention in the olden days.

Be careful posting a pic, GK. If you really do look like Miller then Ramon might develop a man crush on you. ;D

For those of you that read the latest issue of Action Comics (the DCU title, that is!)--- the character of Esther was named by Gail in honor of our very own associate editor, Ellen (Dragonbat) Fleischer, who was a source of research for that scene!
Gee, Brandon get's his picture on a DC2 cover (Detective Comics #3), Susie is taking the staff of Wizard Magazine (and the revisionists at DC!) to school over Hex-tory, and now Ellen is showing up in Action Comics (slightly ironic as she is primarily a Batfan)...

Issue #2 of All Star Superman is out & fantastic!
It is what Superman titles have have not been for a while: FUN!
Quietly's art was great... Morrison's writing was spot-on. The onnly complaint I have is that it has taken to damn long for the issue to arrive!

Yeah, but secondarily, I'm a Gail Simone fan!

No offense, but I have heard of, and read some of the man's work, and I tend to think that he's nuts. Genius, but nuts.

He said in an interview that he doesn't really experiment while writing anymore. That was a 30s thing for him and now he's settled down now and lives in the Scottish countryside. Of course this is what he says. Ha.

Anyone read Action Comics # 837?
I'm getting really damn tired of the spoilers from the end of Infinite Crisis in the OYL books!
It's exactly what I knew would happen, giving away major information early because IC can't ship on time.
AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!
All Star Superman #3 was awesome though! I was surprised by Supes arm-wrestling match though! Ouch!
