Yep. He's a goner. There was TT cover on LITG that showed the memorial statue too.
BUT, who is this new Supernova character? That's what I'm wondering.

Richard Donner, you are my God. You can see both the writers (Yes, Geoff "Me Do Infinite Crisis Well Like" Johns too) strengths shine through, but there's a real cinematic flare connected to this arc that makes me smile. Even though I am not reluctant to like a "Superboy" storyline, clone, parallell universe, time pocket, whatever the writers normally come up with, this is amazing! It all makes sense, and I must say, the underated Kubert brother, Adam (in my opinion the better, more kinetic artist of the brothers) , is doing some of his best work since his X-Men run in the late 90s! I mean... Wow! The double page spreads, the horizantal running-across-two-pages panels are amazing... And whilst some may say that his art is weak because of discrepencies between his faces from panel to panel, this arc, from here on in renamed "Superman and Son" is better than the horrific piece of trash now renamed "Batman and Spawn-Of-Satan"...

seeI have not been liking this much to say the least. well i generally love johns and am a fan of the donner movies yikes, this isn't my cup of tea. its all like, "look at how much homages I can make to the original films" while at the same time just sooo over the top with all that crap and it has no subtltly. even the villains are starting to turn up like that with the "dark superman" being bizarro from 3 and now the zod and company from 2 with some of the worst resdesigns ever i might add... why do they need or have yellow glassess in the phantom zone or wherever the hell they are from? and the art well... i don't like the art. for a story that supposed to feel "vintage" what with the borrowing of themes from superman past its a bit too... "raw" for me. I mean, i get it but i don't get why, this is anything but a hard edged story so why handle the art that way. aside from that its just had awful proportions with hints of turner which most of you here know i can't stand. i was hopeful when i read the first issue but looking back it kind of left a bitter after taste and this last issue just worsened it.

I agree a lot with Ramon on this latest run. Some of it, I'm enjoying, but it's been kind of hit and miss with me.

Well I really enjoy it. It went from a read on the shelf to a read in the pullbox, and it's going to stay that way, but if Grant Morrison doesn't deliver the goods with The Joker over in Batman, I'll be dropping that. If only James Robinson had stayed on, then I'd be a fan for life, but alas...

I was wondering:
Has any writer or any event mentioned Superman being mentally 1000 years older than most (since that Norse God war or whatever)?
Him and Wonder Woman fought a war for 1000 years...I think the two of them should be DC's most powerful and vicious duo. Hulk went to a planet for a few months and got smarter and stronger. Clark...not so much. Still seems like the same Big Blue to me.

I remember that, but straight after that arc Parasite did a whammy on Lois and it just kind of got ignored.
Plus, the Batman/Superman Action issue which was part of that arc is one of my most prized issuses. Cary Nord art, Batman narrative, kind of a flip/reverse of Batman #20 here on the site.

I'm a huge HUGE fan of Geoff Johns, I really am, and I was excited about this last issue with Toyman. Couldn't wait to see what he did with this villain.
SPOILERS*******
but, for the first time ever, I was very dissapointed with this issue. Toyman was good and the story was interesting, but suddenly Batman shows up to save Jimmy!!! WHAT?!
I actually checked the cover to make sure I was reading the write book. Yeah, there's a slight connection there with Toyman being in Arkham, but come on! How much Superman/Batman team ups do we have to have.
I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps Lois isn't enough for the Supes. (total sarcasm, but random appearances are beginning to get a bit annoying in the world of DC)

I agree with Brian. I thought it was neat that Toyman was in arkham and was I'm not a batman guy! That was neat but does Batman monitor and go after EVERY prosoner of arkham. Bruce could have given Clark a call...."Toyman's loose, you gonna go get him?" "Duh, yeah, right after I finish with this sun eater!" Click, "Sheesh" I think the whole issue was done to negate the child molestor Toyman and bring back Cat Grant, so they had to build a story around that.
