I think this is probably the best book no one is reading. There is a lot of potential here, and I think the writer is pretty clever--- there are some nicely articulated characters here, particularly the lead, Kate Spencer. The Identity Crisis tie-ins were especially good. I'd love a storyline where Kate goes after a high profile villain (Luthor) and tries to prosecute him. Could be the equivilant of the OJ/Scott Peterson/Michael Jackson trial for the DCU! They almost had it with the trial of the Shadow Theif (putting the JLA on the stand was fun to see, especially how the defense attorney cornered the masked Hawkman)!

Some interesting developments in the new issue... Director Bones of the DEO pops up. Plus, an obscure "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" reference (ah, Carrie Fisher and midgets...).

I really love this book. I have not read the latest issue. But i might have to move it up to the top of the stack now. Screw the fact that Kate Spencer is a kick ass chick and a great character, I want midgets and Carrie Fisher!

It really is a great book and you should try to get all the back issues or trades if you can!

Thanks for the heads up on this title. Finished reading this last issue and loved it. Might pick up a couple of back issue's and I did order Street Justice, the tpb, as well.

I started picking up this series 2 months ago and I'm in love with it. There are a lot of great characters and I can't wait to see what happens between her and her Dad.

Manhunter is one of those books that DC really needs to talk about and promote more. It's a damn amazing book.

This could mean that Kate is joining the cast of checkmate, or they're creating a DEO book! Meh, probably won't happen

awesome! does that make her related to atom smasher? There is no blood relation between Al Pratt and Albert Rothstein. Atom Smasher's mom (or Grandmother; it's unclear) was the daughter of Terry Curtis, the Golden Age (reluctant) villain Cyclotron (he has a blink-and-you'll-miss-him cameo in my JSA#1); upon the death of Curtis, the little girl gained Al Pratt and Danette Reilly (Firebrand II) as godparents (both of whom hooked up with other people and were not romantically involved). Kate Spencer was never a part of Al Pratt's life, but I think the idea is cool, especially with all the Infinity, Inc connections in this title. If the Manhunter book is cancelled with Issue 30, I could see Kate in Checkmate or even the new Justice Society of America title (or even in our own DC2 New Outsiders); I just hope she sticks around and isn't killed off!

Every DC2 member put MANHUNTER on your pull list! Come on, if we all pull together, all one thousand of us *snigger*... I mean, uh... All thirty of us, then we can make a difference!
