Hmmm... I really like Gail Simone, but there was something off about this issue (other than the art)... When did they introduce this new Hawk and Dove? Is this the Dove that gave birth to the Fate baby early in the current run of JSA?

I didn't buy this one but flipped through it in the store. I have to say, leaving off the inker and instead coloring over Liefeld's straight pencils did NOT help the artwork.

I liked #27, although the art was awful...what was Liefield thinking of when he drew Raven?

I liked #27, although the art was awful...what was Liefield thinking of when he drew Raven? Liefield doesn't think. He's a terrible artist. He just should've continued to sit in a corner and come up with ideas and not try to write or draw anything himself. Or, LEARN TO DRAW FEET, ROB! Geez, whatta hack. "It's just my style." As we said at my school, Rob, "Bad is NOT a style."

I admire Rob for his enthusiasm alone, but I agree that he should back away from the art table and be more of a behind-the-scenes guy. He's done a good job as a publisher and put out some great books in the past but he keeps letting his companies go under. The fact that he let Awesome skip a beat and lost Alan Moore and Steve Skroce on YOUNGBLOOD is practically a crime. That was shaping up to be a great book.

I do not admire Rob at all... in any way... except that he gives me hope that maybe, someday, my mediocre work could get published.

Anyone notice how late the book is. You know it has got to be Liefeld. I haven't read it but when I flipped through it it looked just like that crappy X-force mini he did. He should just stay behind-the-scenes with the ideas.

But enough Rob bashing. The fact that he was one of the founders of Image, I do have to give him some respect. I admire the policies and direction of Image.

So what did you think of #28, folks?
I thought the story was ok, and we won't get into the art side of it since it has been covered.

Jason Todd shouldn't have worn those damn Robin togs again... I mean... They were yellow leggings! WTH?! (WTH - Why the horror! )

Well, this issue should have satisfied all the rabid Captain Carrot fans on this site--- with art by Scott Shaw, no less! Nice moment between Raven and Gar, too. Never saw that one coming! Although, Raven has been known to manipulate the emotions of her teammates before for her own ends...

Did anyone read issue #32? I loved to see the return of all the great Doom Patrol stories to current continuity and the Doom Patrol's connection to Beast Boy! Great issue! ;D

Yeah, I was a little stunned with that arrow myself. I've seen a lot of trick arrows in my life, but that one really came from left field.
The Doom Patrol stuff was good, though.

Yeah, I didn't like the idea of a Phantom Zone arrow either. Also, I don't think Superboy Prime should have able to escape from the Phantom Zone so easily. He just punched through it with almost no effort.
I stick buy my opinions on the Doom Patrol, though.

*SPOILERS*
What did y'all think of #33? I liked the brief reappearance of Nightwing's old costume, and showing just how cool and bada$$ he really is. Superboy's comment about him and Wonder Girl must be referring to the upcoming Titans annual; the Wonder Girl;/Ares stuff was cool and very foreboding as well.

I think this was one of the best OYL issues so far!
Tim seems to be going a little Batman with his own little Batcave & class-cased dead-hero costume displays! A new Zatara? Kid Devil? MARVIN & WENDY? A lot has happened over the last year! Is it just me though, or does Wonder Girl look like she's wearing jeans with an Underoos top?

I was thinking her costume was looking more like the DC2's Wonder Girl actually.

the original actully had red pants with stars on the sides but yeah, the ripped jeans give it a bit of an "i just woke up from having it with conner" kinda look
when i first saw kid devil i was like, "aww... look they put satan on the team"

I think they're setting Kid Devil up to be the new BB, since it sounds like BB is going to stick with the DOOM Patrol. This has been my favorite OYL issue yet. Although Manhunter and JSA were both pretty good too.

I agree that it was a good issue. I'm not totaly sold on the line-up now, but there's some great mystery's going on.

This was one of my favorite OYL reads, up there with Detective, Batman, and Robin. I'm interested in learning more about Kid Devil the most since I really didn't know anything about the character prior to this issue and I kind of liked him.
