I've read and enjoyed all 3 issues of Final Crisis so far...
However... has anyone noticed the fact that we had a similar CRISIS here in the Apokolips Imperative?
Pretty sure Morrison's not borrowing from us, just as I'm sure Johns didn't borrow from us with the Sinestro Corps War... I'm just saying there are many similarities.

Besides Darkseid being the bad guy, I can't seem the similarities. Sorry. owo

Big epic Apokolips event! I understand the sentiment, Scott. GAWD, Seb, such a DOWNER! And if you think about it, we preempted Civil War, didn't we? With our own Heroes Vs Heroes event, Justice League Vs America. Though I realise that's a mega-reach...

Big epic Apokolips event! I understand the sentiment, Scott. Yeah, the sentiment is there clear enough. "Darkseid takes over the world". ...Didn't the first issue of JL vs A come out over a year after Civil War had ended?

Not to mention that it looks as though he's using the half-Manhunter Alpha Lanterns to take down Earths GL's... the lack of New Gods to defend the Earth (in ours they were on the run, in his they're 'dead'). There are a number of small similarities occurring in the book. LIke I said, I know he didn't rip us off... there's just striking similarities in some of it.
At least that's how it's looking so far.

Anyone reading Final Crisis: Rogues Revenge? I'm adoring what Johns/Kollin's are doing there. Also, DC Universe: Last Will & Testament... What the Hell? It didn't even... Make... Sense...

Rogues revenge is quite awesome. I've enjoyed it a lot. Someone should send a copy of Last will and testament to Jay.

HA! It does completely undermine a section of continuity that will get Jay riled. That being said, it was the insistence that this was part of a rigid continuity that bugged me. Spoilers... ... Warning you... ... Fine! Superman did not make a speech. He was by Lois' side, and then vanished into the Bleed to save the multiverse.Batman did not have time to go swinging with Robin and Nightwing. He's currently being tortured by Darkseid's agents.Green Lantern didn't get to do the inspirational flying away moment. He's under arrest.Wonder Woman didn't have time to say goodbye to Donna. Boar Face. 'Nuff said. There are more, but I don't have the issue at hand. If they'd done less with those "inspirational" snippets, those "epic moments", and just followed one man's search for his sister's "corupter/murderer" (blah, she was insane before he got there, he just directed it) and maybe expanded on the Liberty Belle/Hourman, Wildcat/Wildcat one panel moments, I'd have liked to have seen that. Also more with Black Lightning would have been cool. The sky did not go black. Superman did not announce the end of the world. To be honest, I enjoyed the issue. The art was beautiful (Adam and Joe! Wish we'd had an Andy cover, that would have been wonderful, and the story was solid, it was just the continuity that let it down, and the way it was sold to us. That's my opinion, of course

Well I heard about the premise, and I gotta say the (FREAKIN SPOILERS) General idea does not appeal to me. Nor does the notion of Geo-Force going after Deathstroke. Probably wind up with a sword right between the ribs.

Great, so he's the new Risk, now. Phht. SPOILERS Nah. He kept his legs. And he won. End of Spoilers But yeah, Last Will and Testament was horrible. I'll ignore it completely. Just like FC: Revelations! (Sadly, i'll keep on buying Revelations.) OwO

I have to say I find these conflicting reports very conflicting. Confused Jay is confused. SPOILAWRS! Deathstroke kicks Brion's ass. Brion slits his throat because he "failed" Terra. Deathstroke is all "ZOMG my investment is ded! WHY SO DED!". Slade runs over to his enemy side to... I don't know... And Brion goes all "LOLZ JUST KIDDING" and stabs Deathstroke in the chest with his own sword. Both live. But Geoforce won. END OF DA SPOILAWRS! OWO

I gotta say that, even though Morrison's on Batman has been nothing short of atrocious, Final Crisis isn't too bad.... I am enjoying the tie-ins a heckuva lot more though.... Rogue's Revenge and Legion are kicking the main titles butt six ways to Sunday! Geoff Johns rules! And I do agree with last will and testament totally screwing up the continuity, but I have to say, I really liked the issue; it was nice to see meltzer writing a comic again since Identity Crisis rocked so hard!..... and one more thing that bugged me about Final Crisis....... why the heck does morrison think he has to pick this book to showcase his insanely stupid japanese hero team?....don't get me wrong, japanese heroes would be pretty rad, but the ones he made are just stupid! anyone else agree with me here?

I disagree, I've been enjoying his Batman, and his Final Crisis is plain fantastic. I've really been enjoying it, and so far, the only weak tie-in has been Submit, mainly because it was released at the wrong time. And I think the new superhero team haven't been given time to breathe yet, but I have faith in Morrison!

I am enjoying Final Crisis, not loving it, but enjoying it. I hope Morrison has some major pay offs though if he wants this to go down as one of DC's better big events.

it's been an ok book so far, much better than secret invasion.....the only thing I've hated so far is the "super young team" crap..... and morrison said this team is supposed to replace the forever people! if that's the case I won't be buying any new books featuring the new gods ever again..... I'll stick with the kirby stuff, thank you lol (and the john byrne stuff was pretty rad as well)

To which Hal will respond: "So what am I gonna do with the other 23 hours?" This is why Hal Jordan is the greatest Green Lantern--- this scene would not have worked with Guy, John, Kyle or Alan.

I will admit when I first started reading FC I was confused to all hell. But now that Im on track and in the loop Im rather enjoying it. And I did mark out when the Omacs got brought into play. I did not see that coming. And those are the moments as a comic fan that make or break a story for me. However how this series is being presented, well they could of done better. All the big story arcs now days just seem rushed. But maybe thats just me.
Cheers.

Probably my favorite issue of the story so far. Tawny vs. Kalibak was sweet and that ending...cool stuff though this has been a dissapointing event.
