I'm a BIG fan of the Golden Age JSA. It was great to see Wesley and Rex getting so much attention.

That was a blast David! I forgot about all the plot points we worked on (it was so long ago... General Glory!!! HA!). Great dialogue... excellent issue. Keep 'em comin'!

Very nice. I was looking for a good retelling of the origins of the JSA, I think you should have a few mini-series explaining the origins of each hero in the Society. Don't forget to add the Star-Spangled Kid, Specter, Mr. Terrific, Johnny Thunder, and Dr. Mid-Night By the way, are you doing a lot of research for the next issue?

Next issue is on hold until the New Year, along with Hawkman, but my committment to the Golden Age titles is iron-clad--- there are cool things coming for the JSA! I'm not big on origins, unless we veer away from the established DCU line, so we'll see on that... but I do intend to use most of the heroes you mentioned eventually (some sooner than later, like Dr. Midnight)!

I hope so, I forgot to mention Wildcat, Black Canary, and the first Green Lantern, so do them too. I think that would take care of the entire JSA. Don't do Power Girl though, or Red Tornado, they don't fit. I also asked for origins so that those who don't know them will understand why they are heroes. Also, if you explored Hawkman's origins, you should do the origins for the others

Just read it! Awesome stuff! I hope the original Green Lantern is in the DC2 JSA as well. It wouldn't be quite right without Alan Scott there.
Otherwise that, kickin' story! I can't wait for more!

What's the JSA without Alan Scott?
Count on seeing the original ringslinger in all his emerald glory!
Thanks for the interest, l1701e and ryu!

Same, here, are you still considering origins for the JSA members, both the ones on the cover and the one's I'm asking you to include? P.S I had some thoughts and I thought you could add Ma Hunkle, the first Red Tornado, but with the abilites to control the winds.

While I respect the place Ma Hunkle has in JSA history, I'm not sure if she's a very compelling character, at least as a superhero. We may yet see her in these pages, but I doubt she will be weilding any superpowers (but there are plans to bring the android Red Tornado to the DC2--- keep an eye on future issues of New Outsiders)...

I understand that, I just thought it would be a good idea, since she's technically a honorarey member, I think. As for Black Canary, the first one, will you give her the same sonic scream as the second Canary? Make sure you remember to add that she is an old firend of Johnny Thunder.(in the comics, she began her career with Johnny, look it up in the DC encyclopedia for more info.) For Star-Spangled Kid, you can give him the Cosmic Converter Belt. That means you'll have to make him a friend of Starman since the belt was made from the tech of the cosmic rod. I also think you could add Stripey, with his robotic suit. How about it? ps. Are you hinting at an actuall Red Tornado appearence in the DC2 universe.

Ryu, Have faith in our EIC! He knows what he's doing & I guarantee whatever he writes will knock your socks off! But, like all good writers/editors... he won't give out all of the secrets ahead of time. That wouldn't be fun!

You're right. But I want to make sure that he gets a true JSA. oh and Idlewilder, once again I forgot to add someone. Think you can add Hawkgirl to the JSA's roster. Oh, will Hawkman be chairman like in the comics? And will CC Baston be a member as Captain Marvel, and why is he the Captain, I thought that was Billy?

Ryu, this will indeed be a "true" JSA, but it will be the DC2 JSA--- there will be differences between this version and the version in the DCU (though not arbitrary ones, and usually, if I may be so bold, for the better). In fact, you've already hit on one--- the Golden Age Captain Marvel is C.C. Batson, not his son Billy (for more info, see my post A Brief History of the DC2 in the What is the DC2 forum, and, more specifically, Adventures of Superman #2). And don't worry about the Hawks! They have their own Golden Age title (currently on hiatus, but returning in February)--- and I think you'll approve of the direction we're going with them.

This is a hilarious thread to read.
Ryu! Idlewilder is one of the most devoted lovers of the Golden Age, so there should really be no question of all these things he's gonna' include! If it's relevant and exciting to the tale he's going to weave, then he'll use it, and knowing him like I do, everything you hope for and more will be available in the next issue, coming out very soon!
Peace!

with all due respect to the all-powerful editor-in-chief, waiting another month for the JSA is stupid. I can't wait any longer!

Hey dude, calm down! This guy edits about eight titles a month, wrote seventeen books for the first three months and basically is the glue that keeps us all together! I can wait another thirty days for a book if it means keeping him sane. This guy has a fiancee and a job that pays for his internet connection... Let's give him some space, eh? If you want some golden age fun, reread it

Ryu, I can appreciate your enthusiasm, but as I've already stated, JSA will resume it's regular monthly schedule in February--- so, to answer your question: No, there will not be a new issue of JSA this month. I'm really glad you enjoyed the first issue so much to get this worked up, and I assure you the delay is by no means a power-play by an "all-powerful" Editor-in-Cheif (even my staff won't let me get away with that one, as I am more answerable to them than vice versa), and that if I had an issue ready for posting, I would even give you a sneak preview--- but unfortunate;y, that's just not the case. This is not a conspiracy to make you angry, and in the future, please try to keep all of your posts cordial and free of accusations and false assumptions.

Hey Ryu a new JSA comes out tommorow if that makes you happy. Try not to shout at Idlewilder either. I've read all of his work here and he puts out a lot of it on top of running this sight. I'm sure he will get the next issue out when he is able to. That just happens to be in Feburary.

Ooh, new JSA. Can't wait. As for the original Golden Age Red Tornado, I think she'd be great for comic relief. She was created for that purpose in the first place, after all. I hope one day, we get to see a Jay Garrick/Barry Allen team-up like back in the day, or maybe a Hal Jordan/Alan Scott team up. ;D Oh, and maybe we'll see a DC2 version of Infinity Inc. sometime. ;D
