Nice. I picked up the singles, and it's a joy to read. I especially enjoyed the Blue Beetle tie-in, though I doubt that'll be included in the collection.

Just finished Volume 10 of Fables, still the best Vertigo title out there.
Also getting the final volume of Y the Last Man, this week. Another really good series.

Lots of out there stuff for me, really. The Nightly News, Tapping the Vein, Demo, trying something new with my collection right now. Still buying packs of 5 comics for a £1 though, so my singles keep growing....

Just got Absolute Sandman Vol 4 to complete the collection and also picked up the Joker Graphic novel by Brian Azzarello, which after reading it, ranks right with Killing Joke as one of the best Joker stories ever.

my trade collection has expanded a good bit in recent months with all of the totally rad sales at my local comic shop..... the first sale, I got over 250 bucks worth a merch for just under 40 bucks! (and that's one of the smaller sales)...... anyways my trade collection right now consists of:
Crisis on Infinite Earths (who doesn't have that one? lol)
Infinite Crisis
Heroes Reborn:Captain America (the only marvel trade in my collection at present)
Deadpool Classic (actually just gave this one away to a friend this week for helping me with some covers)
Batman:Hush vol. 1 & 2
Batman:Tales of the Demon
Batman year one: Ra's al ghul (as you may have guessed, I jump at anything Ra's related lol)
Kingdom Come
JSA:Thy Kingdom Come vol.1
Nightwing:Love and War
Tales of the New Gods
The Dark Knight Returns
JLA: New World Order
JLA: Rock of Ages
Justice League: The Tornado's Path
Just Imagine Stan Lee Creating the DC Universe vol. 1 (still looking for the other two volumes)
Return to the Amalgam Age of Comics: The DC comics collection
Young Justice: A League of Their Own
Green Lantern:Baptism of Fire
Green Lantern:Emerald Knights
Green Lantern:Rebirth
Green Lantern:No Fear
Green Lantern:Revenge of the Green Lanterns
JLA/Avengers
and that's it (for now)....
yeah, I know I have a lot of GL books.... the reasons for that are: number 1: I love Geoff Johns... and number 2: I jump at any book starring Kyle Rayner.... he's still my favorite Green Lantern....... I'm looking to expand my collection with the Scalped trades........ I'm really digging Jason Aaron now.... I had the luck of meeting him at my local comics store a few months ago and he's a really nice guy..... even got him to sign my issue of Joker's Asylum:The Penguin! and he actually has me liking Ghost Rider for the first time in my life lol....... I'd love to jump onboard with single issues of Scalped but, since Aaron's mom still lives down here, she comes in and buys a crap-load of everything he writes and Scalped is the first book of his that sells out..... gotta respect that woman though, she supports her kid lol.........

Pitifully few, due to newness to the genre. Looking to expand heartily in the wake of Christmas.
300 All-Star Superman All-Star Batman and Robin, the Boy Wonder The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Volume 1 The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Volume 2 Batman: Year One Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Batman: The Dark Knight Strikes Again Watchmen
If I wanted to look into Aquaman/The Question/The Flash/Green Lantern, what collections would I investigate first? Suggestions in terms of what you think captures the character best.

Captain America Omnibus Hardcover (Issues 1-25, plus specials). For £10. Now THAT is what I call a bargain. Some of my favourite comics ever. Also, nice collection, Ammunition! Just get a bit more Marvel in there. I can't speak for the others, but for 'Green Lantern', I would suggest 'Rebirth' and then the Geoff Johns trades from there on in, some excellent, modern Green Lantern stuff which encapsulates everything good about Hal Jordan. For 'Flash', 'Born To Run' is probably the consummate 'introductory' book and then again, the Johns run (Starting with 'Wonderland') is fabulous. There's a lot of great Flash stuff in particular from the last decade or so, but the Johns run is the only one that is fully collected in TPB.

Fantomas, I would also check out the B&W Showcase editions for GL, Flash and Aquaman. The Silver Age stories of these characters are less sophisticated than the modern versions, but they're a lot more fun.(The full color archive editions are good, too, if you can afford them!)

check out the B&W Showcase editions for GL, Flash... Yup, got Volume 1 of GL and Flash. Lots of fun and lots to read. The pacing of these early stories are so different than today's comics. Instead of have one storyline continuing over three comics (or more), here you have three stories in one issue!

if you want to get into the question, The Question vol.3 just came out not long ago..... all three of the trades are awesome (which is a given considering they were written by Denny O'Neil!) for Flash, I agree with what was said above, but for your GL question... that ones a bit tougher to answer since you're asking about stories that "capture their character"..... there have been 4 humans in the GL corps so, it really depends on which Lantern you want to read about.... since I'm a kyle fan, I really like the emerald twilight and emerald knights trades..... emerald knight is cool because it gives you a look at both Kyle and the classic Hal (before he became parallax)....... but if you're more of a Hal fan then yes, Rebirth and pretty much anything written by johns is gold! if geoff isn't writing it I refuse to read a book starring solely Hal..... I never thought I ever even be able to put up with a stricktly Hal book, but darn it if johns didn't pull me in lol

Hey there, guys!
A new trade is in my collection: Green Lantern: In Brightest Day. It's a selection of important GL stories, chosen by Geoff Johns. He's picked some good ones. I finally got to read "Tygers", the story that helped inspire Sinestro Corps War.

hahah, it's official! Kingdom Comics is the greatest! stopped by this week to empty out my box and Jason pointed me towards two boxes of trades (some of them pretty new... like salvation run) and told me that if I bought two or more they were half price!... then there was another box with some pretty rare comics (like "Mitefall" and a few older Flash trades) for 5 bucks a pop! I'm so picking up some new stuff next week! but as for this week, the two new trades in my collection are.......
JLA:World Without Grown-Ups
JSA Presents: Green Lantern (Alan Scott, of course)

I just picked up "The Long Haul" from Oni Press (Its a western), The old Sisterhood of Steel graphic novel from Eclipse Comics ($1) and the Volume 1 Showcase Presents of both Supergirl as well as Phantom Stranger.
Just as soon as Uncle Sam can be bothered to gimme my money back, I'll be picking up quite a few other books that I've had my eye on for awhile now (namely the Sgt. Rock Showcases, Volume 2 of The Lone Ranger from Dynamite as well as their Red Sonja collections).

well guys/gals, my local shop is having a sale every tuesday until the end of april...... the last tuesday sale series back in september allowed me to pick up a ton of trades (plus a couple of zatanna and black canary busts, along with 2 Nightwing figures) for dirt-cheap! I think I may finally be able to add New Frontier to my trade collection, along with with some Sandman, perhaps..... also thinking about picking up the 3 Justice trades.......
Anyways, just thought I'd share that...... if everything goes as planned (and by that I mean, if I stay on Jason's good side during this sale) I may be expanding my collection a good bit over the next month.... wish me luck!
