I've got an extra copy of Volume 3 of The Sandman that I ended up with by accident. If anyone wants it, please PM me and I'd be happy to send it to you. I don't need two copies.
I just finished Vol 2 of Justice League Internation HC and getting ready to read volume 2 of The Boys.

well well well.... my trade collection expanded a good bit today.... first of all, I went in and traded some comics, earning myself 20 bucks store credit.... Jason was, at first going to give me all the comics in my box this week (which totaled to about 13 bucks) plus one of the sandman trades (which he was going to give me for half price anyway) and put the store credit towards those, calling it even.... then he grabbed another of the sandman trades and said he'd throw in 2 trades, rather than just one and still give me the weeks comics for free.....
the greatness didn't stop there.... I got the other 5 volumes of sandman for half off...... then, I see the spin-rack he has set up for some of the marvel trades he has on sale... he tells me everything on the rack is 60% off.... I go over there to check it out... nothing too great at first, the first two trades from Straczynski's spidey run, plus some of the crappy morrson x-men run.... and a lot of fantastic four crap (did I ever mention how much I hate them?)... but, then, I come across two trades I've been dying to own... and here they are 60% off! two Captain America trades! Bicentennial Battle by the legendary Jack Kirby and Operation Rebirth..... so ,yeah, I got a killer deal on everything today.... even got the world's funniest trade for practically free..... and, while there, I thought "what the heck, why not pick up Superman:Emperor Joker"?..... so, without further ado, here's a list of everything I got today....
Sandman: 4-10 Captain America: Operation Rebirth Captain America: Bicentennial Battles Superman: Emperor Joker Superman and Batman: World's Funniest
oh, and volume 3 of Sand that Brian sent me finally arrived today as well...... it was meant to be lol... (thanks again, Brian... you da man!)

Yesterday I got the Captain America Omnibus and read the first 12 issues in it. Holy Sh!7!!! I loved Brubaker on Gotham Central and Criminal, but this is just amazing. He and Greg Rucka are currently the most interesting writers (professionals! ) out there for me.

I recently picked up some new trades: New Mutants Classic Vol. 4 and Thor Visionaries: Walter Simonson Vol. 1 My comic guy is trying to get the other three volumes of New Mutants Classic and the second volume of Thor Visionaries.
I had heard a lot about Simonson's run on Thor, and since they were reprinting the original trades, I decided to pick up the first volume. I was not disappointed. THe New Mutants trade was fun, although Bill Sienkewicz's art makes my head spin sometimes.

I seem to remember telling a friend of mine the same thing when he came to visit from Germany. Just finished Volume one of House of Mystery and loved it. Now I'm onto Volume three of The Boys.

I picked up JLA/Avengers last November.... I was a little disappointed, but that's probably just because I'm not a fan of Busiek's writing.... I think he's pretty boring most of the time.... Trinity is his best effort so far to me.

I got a new trade today!
Justice League International, Vol. 2
Some of the print didn't appear too well, but it was still a great read. The incident with Mr. Miracle crashing the JLI shuttle was hilarious!

I need to amp up my TPB collection big time, but I'm a singles collector... I'm considering picking up Final Crisis HC, because it looks like a wonderful package, and I'll soon be rolling in it... so we'll see how that goes. But really, I'm going to go back issue trawling. God, I miss having the money to do that.

Picked up John Coulthart's adaptation of "The Haunter of the Dark", with a really cool overview of Lovecraft's creations in the back, with Alan Moore's words backing up the really amazing illustrations. Good buy.

Found a load of Preacher TPBs in a second book shop near my place of work-- blew my pay on 6 of those there and then. Also finally purchased V for Vendetta, a piece of work that I think everyone should own, even if it is wildly overrated.... in my opinion, at least. Great buys.
How does the Infinite Crisis trade shape up l1701e? Did you get it in singles too?

I have Infinite Crisis in both trade and in singles form, and it's neat to compare the changes they made. I didn't think what they did to the scene where the Freedom Fighters were massacred was necessary, but I liked the George Perez spread of all the DCU heroes. I'd love to see him do a spread of all the Marvel heroes.
I do like Superboy-Prime as a villain. I think he's a great villain. Mostly because he belives he's not the bad guy. What better threat to the DC Universe than a twisted version of it's greatest hero? I've always looked at him as a slight parody of fanboy stereotypes in a way.

Picked up DMZ: On The Ground, the first in the collection of a series I've wanted to collect for ages, but am going to simply have to trade-buy because I'm so behind. Really interesting series, and amazingly well crafted. Also picked up JLA: Justice for All, which has to feature the most eclectic of Morrison's League stories, and also... JLA: Trial By Fire, the collection of the final Kelly/Mahnke arc on the main JLA series, and a trade I've been wanting for years, to stop me from thumbing through the singles that I have. A brilliant arc, and one that constantly inspired me for a long time.
