Since August of 2005, the writers, artists and supporters of the DC2 have worked together, grown together, squabbled together, triumphed together, built an unprecedented online fan fiction community together--- and now it's time for us to Come Together!
The plan is for as many of us as possible to meet-up at (where else?) a comic convention. Let's use this thread to decide the where and when, coordinate times, plan activities and to communicate involvement.
Everyone who's ever been a member is welcome and invited to join in. The more the merrier!
So vote--- and let's hear from everyone!

My 2009 is pretty much spoken for, so I'm going to vote for NYC in 2010, though I could probably make any one of those events in 2010. If it's decided that we are going to meet up in 2009, i'll try to make it.

Make it 2010, so I'll see that I have enough money for the flight. Are you all going to stay for longer than one day, and if so, where? I'm for NY or Chicago.

I'm at University building toward my May/June exams, but am going to be on the East Coast July/August time... I don't know, I need to figure out my fundage situation, and whether I can get to Chicago around August.

I went with NYC in 2010 as well. My 2009 is pretty full as well but ultimately I could squeeze in a weekend if it came to it.

Well, I'm really shaky on NYC this year but will def be hitting either Dragon*Con or Chicago. Anybody planning on one of those shows maybe we can do a mini-gathering. Then I can plan on NYC 2010 if that's what it winds up being.

NYC 2010
I can see the events will have lined up. We'll have one of the those big meetings with the press like the big two. We'll an undercard match between Dave and Charlie, with the Main Event being Jay Mack vs Dan Dee, with the the fate of the DCU direction hanging in the balance.
I would be great for us to have a presence there for the whole three days.
2010...the year that big brother(DC Proper) met its prodigal heir.

I stand a better chance of getting to NYC than any other place unless you want to make Toronto Comicon or FanExpo. Given that most of you reside in the US, I can appreciate that unlikelihood.

I voted for 'somewhere else 2010'. Washington, D.C. If people are coming from all 'round, they might as well make it a Capital visit.
(Pun intended. :-P)

I would really prefer Chicago, but if it ends up being New York, I'll find a way there. 2010 is definitely a better choice, too, it gives us all time to save up for it, plus plan on how we're going to outshine the DC booth. ;D Here's an idea: don't they usually have lil' convention rooms set on the side for these things? We could chip in and/or commandeer one (if not at the con itself, then one of the hotels we're staying at). Whether it be a semi-serious "summit meeting" or just an all-out geek party will depend on our mood, I suppose.

Susan brings up a terrific point: can we we get a table/booth at the con? Brandon and Chris, you guys are the pros at this, what do you think?
Actually, Susan makes a a coupe of good points: I think we should use this summit (as she coined it) as an opportunity to plan a blow-out IXE-type event. Maybe to run as our Fifth Year Anniversary...?

I like all these ideas, actually. Nothing says we couldn't party some and have a blow out summit as well! Although I have to admit that I'm a bit worried. The only thing that keeps some people from killing each other is our distance from each other. ;D

Yeah, I kinda get the impression that everybody would run screaming from me except Brian and John, each of whom would like to "have a talk" with me about "certain things"....

My main worry is how are respective significant others are going to react to this whole thing: "God, I can't believe they're actually congregating in person now for this fanfic crap!" "At least we got a trip to New York out of it."

Well Mischief and Dragon are involve with DC2, so we won't have a problem. And come on Jay Mack, we wouldn't run from you. Just pull up a seat and have a drink.
The 'Chief will be have a few drinks, while the Dragon holds his leash. Got to stop the 'Chief from chewing on Charlie's leg. ;D

Jeez, 2010 is a long way away and so is New York. I voted for it but its a long shot whether or not you'll actually see me there. Sounds cool though, we'll see how it all works out.

It is completely unacceptable that you would not be there. You are coming. I am looking forward to hugging the shit out of you. (I've always thought you needed a hug, man, no offense) I'm serious. You're going. Damn it.
